Acclaim Studio Of Dance

For students with several years of Ballet training. This class requires the instructor’s approval. Students must be tested and complete the Pre-Pointe class before determining in eligible for Pointe. (It is highly recommended for students to take 2 ballet classes per week)

Musical Theater offers Broadway style of dancing.

Lyrical dance blends the grace and beauty of ballet with more modern movements and music. Dancers learn to express themselves through movement and facial expression. Lyrical dance is a term to describe the combination of ballet, jazz, and modern dance. It is a beautiful art form. The music used is generally a contemporary ballad style. Dancers that participate in this class have the most success if they are currently enrolled in ballet and jazz.

Hip Hop is a form of dance that is over 30 years old and has become very popular style of dance. Hip Hop is one of the fastest growing dance styles around! The movements in this class are tasteful, but very cutting edge. Although hip hop can seem a bit too “edgy” for many parents, we have made a commitment to appropriate dress, music, and movement. Hip Hop utilizes the most popular music to teach the newest dance moves including popping and locking and some basic break dancing.

Free form of dance is great for flexibility and extension. Jazz class incorporates opening center stretches, across the floor motor skills and combinations.

Tap dance is a percussive form of dance. Dancers use their shoes as an instrument.

This class is more for the serious minded dance student. Students are able to concentrate more on technique and artistry. Cecchetti Students, if interested, may take exams in front of register examiners after each level they complete.

Ballet begins to emphasis terminology, history and proper technique development. Ballet is the most beneficial form of dance and is the foundation for all other forms of dance. It develops a dancer’s strength, balance, stamina, discipline, flexibility, poise, control, confidence and more.

Students increase on their tap and ballet skills and also increase jazz skills, opening center stretches, across the floor motor skills and combinations.

As students continue to increase their technique in Ballet, they are then are introduced to Tap. This will increase their fine motor skills, musical awareness, distinguish right and left exercises while still developing coordination, and rhythm.
