Our Intermediate teams (performing lines) offer dancers an opportunity to compete with our studio and receive quality training, without the intensity of our advanced teams. This option is a great way to see how the competitive world works and have fun meeting new friends and learning new skills. Our Intermediate Competition Program is ideal for those who are looking for that next step in their dance training.

Our Competitive Teams at SPDS not only focus on rigorous, multi-disciplinary dance technique and performance but also in creating a supportive and creative environment where dancers can learn responsibility, leadership skills and the importance of teamwork. It’s not about winning or the type of award but about learning and growing as dancers, performers and most of all people, with the goal of readying dancers for the next step in their lives.

This class encourages dancers to start to understand music and the emotion behind it while focusing on the technical aspect of dance. Dancers begin to understand body awareness and control of movement. This class also fosters creativity within each dancer. Dancers will perform a lyrical dance in our Winter and Spring shows.

This exciting class will keep your dancer moving and grooving. Keeping up with the current trends and learning fundamentals in hip hop. These classes will perform a hip hop routine in both our Spring and Winter shows. This class is upbeat and energetic!

This class encourages dancers to build on the fundamentals of tap and jazz. They begin to understand musicality and focus more on technique. Dancers will perform a tap and a jazz dance in our Winter and Spring shows. This class fosters a fun and challenging environment for all dancers!

These classes introduce dancers to tap & jazz, learning new skills and inspiring movement and creativity within each dancer. They will learn new terminology and how to demonstrate it. Dancers in these classes will perform a tap and a jazz dance in our Winter and Spring shows. This class will excite dancers in these different styles of dance!

This class consists of ballet, tap and creative movement. Dancers will learn basic steps while working on building confidence. This class will perform a tap and ballet dance in our Winter and Spring shows. This class uses fun, age appropriate music to spark their love for dance!

This fun-filled 45 minute introductory dance class is tailored to our youngest dancers. They will learn basic steps while learning to follow directions and imitate movement in a positive environment. This class will perform a tap dance in our Winter and Spring shows. This class enables dancers to use their imagination, creativity and have fun!
