Woodbury Dance Center has had the honor to work with many talented competitive level dancers since 1995. Our programs are designed to nurture and develop the talents of each of our dancers. WDC offers opportunities for dancers, at many different levels, to compete in both regional and national competitions. This program is an option for dancers ages 4 and older.

Ballet/Lyrical Classes are offered within the recreational dance programs, providing students with an opportunity to learn these graceful and expressive dance forms in a supportive environment.

Hip Hop classes are available as part of the recreational dance programs at Woodbury Dance Center, offering a fun and engaging way for children to explore this dynamic dance style.

These combination classes integrate Tap, Ballet, and Jazz styles, with specific combinations offered depending on the age and level of the students in this recreational dance program.

Creative Movement classes are part of the recreational dance programs at Woodbury Dance Center, designed to help children discover a love for dance in a relaxed and fun format.

Come and find out why this is one of our most popular classes at WDC! Dancers will have a blast learning basic hip hop moves to age-appropriate music with the latest sound. Clean tennis shoes are needed for this class.

Dancers will learn basic ballet technique along with additional dance activities and creative movement exercises. Ballet shoes are needed.

Basic tap, ballet and jazz technique will be taught with use of kid-friendly music and activities to make learning fun! This class is perfect for beginners and also a great class for dancers with previous experience to continue working on their skills. Dancers will enjoy learning short routines and combinations of their favorite dance steps! Dancers will need tap and ballet or jazz shoes , as well as a dance bag to hold their shoes.

Combo classes include basic tap, introduction to ballet and creative movement. We strive to help this age group learn basic dance skills while having fun. While the physical skills of coordination, balance and rhythm are mastered, you will also see your dancer grow in their self confidence, listening and social skills. (Perform 2 dances in recital – 1 costume)

Combo – 55 minute combination class for Kindergarten & 1st Grade dancers. Tap and ballet as well as intro to jazz. Ballet only class also offered. Dance helps children develop listening skills, self confidence and discipline, which will carry over to other areas of their lives. These are all beneficial skills as they start grade school. No matter your dancers level, our attentive faculty will help your child learn dance as well as life skills to help them succeed. (Ballet class performs 1 dance in recital – 1 costume/Combo class performs 2 dances in recital – 1 costume)

A 55 minute combination class. Tap and jazz technique will be taught with use of kid-friendly music and activities to make learning fun! Dancers will enjoy learning short routines and combinations of their favorite dance steps! These classes are leveled based on prior dance experience. (Perform 2 dances in recital – 1 costume).

A 40 minute class for beginner to intermediate dancers 1st Grade and older. Learn hip hop moves to clean, current hip hop music. A popular and ever-growing class, we are very conscious to keeping these classes age appropriate. Hip Hop is also a great class to take in addition to a combination class. (Perform 1 dance in recital)

A 60 minute jazz and tap combination class. Dancers will learn tap technique through center exercises and traveling progressions. Focus will be on proper technique and increased speed and clarity of tap sounds. Jazz technique will be taught including warm up/stretch and across the floor exercises. Dancers will focus on style and performance while learning jazz technique with correct body placement. These classes are leveled based on prior dance experience. (Perform 2 dances in recital – 2 costumes).

A 40 minute class. Lyrical will be taught with focus on helping the dancers express themselves through movement. Class will include warm up/stretch and across the floor exercises to work on body placement and proper technique. (Perform 1 dance in 1 recital – 1 costume).

A 30 minute class for beginner Preschool/Kindergarten dancers ages 4-5. Learn basic hip hop moves to clean, current hip hop music. A popular and ever-growing class, we are very conscious to keeping these classes age appropriate. Hip Hop is also a great class to take in addition to a combination class. (Perform 1 dance in recital)

Boys ages 5 to 7 will enjoy a 40-45 minute class offering both tap and hip hop (will perform 2 dances in recital).

Boys ages 8-12 will enjoy a 30 minute class offering tap only (will perform 1 dance in recital).

Boys ages 8-12 will enjoy a 40 class offering only hip hop (will perform 1 dance in 1 recital).

A 40 minute class. Lyrical will be taught with focus on helping the dancers express themselves through movement. Class will include warm up/stretch and across the floor exercises to work on body placement and proper technique. (Perform 1 dance in 1 recital – 1 costume).

Dancers will enjoy creative movement fun along with a parent/caregiver. Interactive props such as scarves, bean bags and tambourines will be incorporated into the class along with kid-friendly music. Clean tennis shoes or soft-soled shoes may be worn.

A 55 minute combination class. Tap and jazz technique will be taught with use of kid-friendly music and activities to make learning fun! Dancers will enjoy learning short routines and combinations of their favorite dance steps! These classes are leveled based on prior dance experience. (Perform 2 dances in recital – 1 costume).

A 60 minute long tap and jazz class. Dancers will learn tap technique taught through center exercises and traveling progressions. Jazz fundamentals will be taught to upbeat music with focus on stretching, basic technique and fun, energetic movement! (Perform 2 dances in recital – 1 costume).

All Tots classes for ages 2-3 will run in 6-8 week sessions throughout the school year concluding with our annual Tots Showcase.

Our Totally Tots class is a fun-filled 30-minute introduction to dance and creative movement. It’s the perfect way for toddlers to explore music, movement, and imagination in a playful, supportive environment! Each class features: Fun and upbeat songs that spark joy Creative movement activities to develop balance, coordination, and strength Props and imaginative play to keep little dancers engaged and excited ‘Totally Tots’ will be offered in 6–8 week sessions, making it easy and flexible for busy families. At the end of the season, dancers in both the Winter & Spring Sessions will have the chance to shine in the Totally Tots Showcase on Sunday, May 17th! One dance One simple costume One magical memory! A perfect first dance experience filled with music, laughter, and growth!
