About Doniphan Dance Project

Doniphan Dance Project (DDP), located in Tupelo, Mississippi, is a vibrant community-based dance and movement learning program dedicated to artistic excellence, creativity, and accessibility. Also known as The School at DDP, the studio fosters an inclusive and nurturing environment, welcoming children and aspiring dancers of all abilities and diverse backgrounds to celebrate their love of movement. DDP offers a comprehensive range of programs rooted in process-driven exploration and non-competitive, progressive learning. Instruction emphasizes modern and contemporary dance technique, ballet technique, movement exploration, composition, choreography, and performance skills. Programs include Early Childhood Movement and Exploration, Children and Teen Program, and the DDP Company Program. DDP provides dedicated classes in Ballet Technique, Modern + Composition, Intro to Ballet, Fairytale Ballet, Open Modern Class, Foundation of Ballet, and Modern and Performance. Pointe work is also addressed with a Foundation of Pointe Work class. Summer 2026 offerings include the StoryMovers Weekly Class, DDP Summer Intensive, Fairytale Ballet Camp, Pointe Intensive, and an All Boys Dance program. Auditions for the summer company, held on March 21st and March 28th for ages 12-28, are crucial for consideration and require leotards with fitted tanks, bikers, leggings, or joggers, with options for bare feet or ballet shoes. Doniphan Dance Project aims to nurture talent and provide performance opportunities, fostering a vibrant dance community within Tupelo and preparing for an exciting move that signifies growth and a continued commitment to the arts.
