Jo's School of Dance, located in Washington, Missouri, has been a cornerstone of the community for 44 years, offering a family-oriented and nurturing environment for dancers of all ages. Founded on a commitment to fostering talent and a love for dance, the studio provides a diverse range of genuine dance styles. Students can explore the foundational grace of Classical and Lyrical Ballet, the energetic rhythms of Jazz (including Broadway and Contemporary styles), and the percussive artistry of Tap (encompassing Broadway and rhythm styles), along with Hip Hop. Owner and Director Jo Nolting-Phinney brings extensive expertise, having studied and performed in major cities like St. Louis, Chicago, and New York, with a performance background including seasons at the St. Louis MUNY and with the Joffery Ballet Company of NY. Assistant Instructor and Choreographer Julie Holdmeier, a former student, also contributes her extensive knowledge in tap, jazz, and ballet. Jo's School of Dance is dedicated to building essential life qualities such as high morale, self-esteem, responsibility, and perseverance through encouragement and constructive criticism. The studio also offers competition classes for students seeking to further develop their performance abilities, ensuring a well-rounded dance education for aspiring young dancers, dedicated adults, and generations of families within the Washington, Missouri community.
