Adult Classes

We have a robust adult program with classes and courses offered throughout the year. Our social dance courses cover swing, country, line dancing, Latin dance jitterbug and more. Come as a single or a couple. We offer dance classes in tap, ballet and hip-hop. Styles and times depend on demand. Classes are offered on a class card or drop-in basis to accommodate busy life schedules.

Young Dancers Company

YDC is the pre-professional program for dancers wanting deeper training and preparation for a career in dance. This group performs throughout the year, competes and attends workshops and events throughout the region. It is the benchmark example of arts education in action and provides a rich, dynamic and rewarding experience for its members. Entry is by audition or instructor permission.

Musical Theater

In weekly lessons students learn all the basic skills used in Musical Theater: singing, movement and acting. The group meets in two sections divided by age and this year will include theater tech and videography. They perform as part of the Miss Linda's Spring Production, but they also have their own show each year.

Modern I-II

A free, expressive style of dance that focuses on the student's own interpretation of movement. Offered in three levels elementary, intermediate and advanced, modern dance is a wonderful way to move through space. This is a great genre of study for creative and artistic movers.

Hip-Hop I-II

A high energy, dynamic class of various styles of urban dance. Elementary and intermediate/advanced levels explore are on offer. Strength and conditioning are elements of this class that will have a focus on breakdancing this season. All song lyrics, choreography and movement are age appropriate.

Jazz I-III

A fun, fast paced dance genre combining stretching, turning and jumping in expressive, stylistic movement. We offer three levels of Jazz, elementary, intermediate and advanced. Each level develops strength, technique, performance and musicality. All choreography is age appropriate.

Tap I-III

A dynamic dance form focusing on sound, rhythm and music making with the feet. Great fun for any age! We offer three Levels of Tap, each developing a different and more advanced understanding of rhythm, percussion, performance and musicality.

Pointe / Pre-Pointe

An advanced ballet technique using pointe shoes. Level III. Instructor invitation only.

Ballet I-III

Classic dance form emphasizing line and poise. Taught to classical music and with a rich history, this beautiful art is about grace and strength. We offer three Levels of Ballet, elementary, intermediate and advanced. Each level develops stronger technique, performance and movement quality. Levels III meet twice a week.

Combination Ballet and Tap

An introduction to movement for youngsters including tap, pre-ballet and tumbling. These lessons develop imagination, coordination and social skills through music, creative movement and fun. Students attend class once a week. Several class times are offered to serve parent/guardian schedules.

Preschool Ballet and Tap

An active exploration of ballet and tap dance along with basic tumbling. These lessons develop memory skills, muscle strength and lay a solid foundation for further dance studies and other physical activities. Music and fun are the building blocks of learning. Students attend class once a week. Several class times are offered to serve parent/guardian schedules.

Flamenco Levels

Lose yourself in this traditional Spanish dance. Level I is open to young and old alike as this art form is taught to all groups. Level II is for those with previous Flamenco experience.

Hip-Hop Levels

Join the dynamic groove of hip-hop. Please follow the level definitions above.

Jazz Repertoire

Jazz Repertoire is for advanced dancers only. Instructor permission is required.

Jazz Levels

Levels I and II are elementary and intermediate respectively. Level III jazz requires the dancer be in a ballet class of any level. Performance with that class is not required. Jazz Repertoire is for advanced dancers only. Instructor permission is required.

Modern Levels

Modern is a dance genre requiring a strong elementary level of dance proficiency for level I. Level II is for solid intermediate/advanced dancers.

Miss Linda's has a strong tap program. Please follow the level definitions above.

Ballet III

Ballet Levels: Ballet III meets three times a week, Mon, Tues and Thurs. Students moving out of Combo 7-8 may take any Level I class and are encouraged to try more than one style.

Ballet II

Ballet Levels: Ballet II meets twice a week. Students must register for both classes. Students moving out of Combo 7-8 may take any Level I class and are encouraged to try more than one style.

Ballet I

Ballet Levels: Ballet I meets once a week. Students moving out of Combo 7-8 may take any Level I class and are encouraged to try more than one style.

Level III

Advanced - those with a great deal of previous dance experience and technical proficiency.

Level II

Intermediate - those with previous dance experience and a foundational level of proficiency.

Level I

Elementary - those newer to dance and those with basic previous dance experience. Students moving out of Combo 7-8 may take any Level I class and are encouraged to try more than one style.

Combo 7-8

Tues is for those who have danced before and Wed is for those who are new or newer to dance. Those with previous experience are welcome to the Wed class if that is better for scheduling.

COMBO SWING

This course delves into all types of Swing and how they can be combined for maximum fun on the dance floor. Previous experience isn't required but it would be helpful. So be sure to try one of our other courses to get the most out of these classes.

LINE DANCING

Get social and bring all your friends. This is a great way to have fun with a group, get a bit of exercise and learn how to line dance to a variety of types of music.

LATIN

Cha Cha, Rumba and all the hot Latin beats. This course is a great way to stay warm during the cold Montana winter.

Swing dancing has been part of our culture for almost 100 years. Join the fun with this course dedicated to learning the basics of this iconic dance form. John and Laurie are West Coast Swing aficionados.
