Nebraska Dance Lighthouse

Dancers will take part in a mini Nutcracker performance, learning dances to the traditional songs that characterize this beloved ballet. Dancers should wear pink tights, pink ballet shoes, black leotard with hair pulled back in a bun. This class meets November 3rd, 10th, 17th, Dec 1st, 8th, and 15th (no class on Nov 24th for Thanksgiving Break) Performance is during class time on December 15th. Custom Nutcracker shirt with dancer names is included in the registration fee. Registration must be completed by 10/30 to guarantee a shirt. Black leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet slippers, with hair in a bun. No tutus or skirts.

The solo program is designed for dancers who are meeting and exceeding the expectations of their current program and looking for a further challenge to add to their training. This program is for dancers who are prepared mentally, emotionally, and physically to handle dancing as a soloist on stage. Dancers should be at an advanced level for their age and program to consider doing a solo.

Squad is designed to offer an opportunity for dancers to gain competitive pom and hip hop experience. Dancers who think they may want to audition for a high school dance team will learn pom and/or hip hop technique and work on team skills to help them prepare. Weekly rehearsals will emphasize precision, execution, athleticism, and performance through upbeat, themed pom and/or hip hop choreography. Squad competes on a local and regional level, and is an option to be added as an additional program opportunity for students already on Crew, Core, Team, Troupe or Company.

The Tap Program is for 8th-12th graders who are interested in enhancing one’s dedication and discipline towards tap dancing while instilling a love for the history of this American art form.

Company will intensely train dancers (5th-12th grade) to compete at a local, regional, and national level through instruction in multiple disciplines. This program will focus on technique, style, execution, and peer camaraderie. Company dancers will be challenged to their highest potential through curriculum and choreography tailored to their specific level and strength, setting a standard of excellence at Nebraska Dance.

Troupe trains dancers (5th-12th grade) at a high level in multiple disciplines, preparing for both local and regional competitions. Troupe dancers will be challenged within a concentrated two-day-a-week program, emphasizing technique, peer camaraderie and execution. The mission of Troupe is to see dancers grow in their passion for dance and excellence.

Core will train dancers (6yrs-4th grade) to compete at a local and regional level by building on fundamentals in multiple dance forms. Core will provide an opportunity for dancers at a variety of ages and experience to train at the commitment level they desire for where they are in their current journey as a competitive dancer. Core will emphasize discipline, work ethic, focus and fun, in an effort to build the foundation of training to set them up for growth and future dance goals.

This program introduces our littlest dancers (4-6yrs) to performance and competition on a local stage by training in jazz, ballet, and tap. Jumpstart will expose these dancers to the process of learning and rehearsing a dance for the competition stage in an effort to inspire, motivate, and spark the young dancer’s passion for dance and for excellence!

This program introduces dancers to performance and competition on a local/regional stage by training fundamentals in jazz technique and choreography. Team is a great opportunity for dancers who love performing on stage and are looking to try out competition dance.

Crew is a non-competitive performance program that offers dancers the opportunity to explore their love for dance, work as a team, and gain additional performance experience. Instructional focus is on individual development in quality of movement, coordination, musicality, and on group execution. This program can also be an avenue for dancers to determine if pursuing additional dance opportunities will be part of their dance journey.

The Crew Program is our non-competitive, performance based program. It provides dancers an opportunity to increase their number of performances throughout the year, while also building team camaraderie and advancing their technique and skills. Registration for Crew PROGRAM classes will be opening along with the rest of our ND classes, so you can select your schedule altogether! It is important to note that the Crew program classes have additional requirements and fees. Parents must review the Crew paperwork below BEFORE registering for any Crew classes in order to understand the extra class requirements and fees associated with the Crew program. Crew is our non-competitive, performance based program. Dancers will take part in a mini ballet performance, learning dances to songs that characterize this beloved story. This class meets on Fridays, January 10th, 17th, 24th, and 31st at our ND Central location, 11426 Davenport Street. Rehearsal for all dancers is February 7th, 4:30-7:00 pm at our Lighthouse location, 11212 Chicago Circle. A Performance will be on February 14th, 7:00pm, at our Lighthouse location. Dancers will need to arrive at 4:30pm the day of the performance. Custom Alice shirt with dancer names is included in registration fee. Registration must be completed by 11/25. Two tickets per student are included in the registration fee, additional tickets will be available for purchase at $5 each. Details on ticket sales will be sent to families after the start of rehearsals. Livestream is also available for out-of-town family and friends. Dancers must be current ND ballet students, or have completed one year of ballet class prior to enrolling in a Boutique Ballet Performance. Girls- Black leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet slippers, with hair in a bun. No tutus or skirts. Boys- Black shorts or black dance pants, white t-shirt (short or long sleeves), white socks, and black ballet slippers. The tuition amount includes a custom Alice souvenir T-shirt with the names of all participating dancers.

Hearts In Motion is an adaptive dance class for children of all ages with special needs. This inclusive class is open to students with down syndrome, autism and other disabilities. This class encourages strength, coordination, and friendship building, while also helping kids increase their confidence and self esteem.

Bring your beautiful ballerina for a magical experience dancing in our popular “Boutique Ballet” experience. “Dorothy Meets the Wizard” is our ballet for Winter 2024. Dancers will focus on the beauty and majesty of ballet in this 6 week workshop. Each student will dance a role in the finale performance on February 16th at our Lighthouse location. Spectators will be invited to attend the performance. Tuition amount includes a Souvenir T-shirt for all participating dancers. This workshop meets from 5:00-6:00 pm on January 12th, 19th, 26th, February 2nd, 9th, 16th. The performance is Friday, February 16th. Join us for the Holiday Hot Chocolate Performance Workshop on Monday, December 22nd, from 1:00–4:30pm at our Lighthouse location. Dancers will learn a routine inspired by The Polar Express, make a special holiday craft, enjoy a snack, and have plenty of fun.

“Willa’s World of Pure Imagination” is our ballet for Summer 2025. Dancers will focus on the beauty and majesty of ballet in this 5 day workshop. Registration deadline is June 20th. Casting Day – Saturday, July 19th 9:30-10:30am, Central location Rehearsals – Monday-Thursday July 21-24, 2:00-3:00pm, Central location Dress Rehearsal – Friday, July 25th, 2:00-4:30pm, Lighthouse location Performances – 3 shows on Saturday, July 26th, dancers will be there 9:00am-2:00pm. Spectators will be invited to attend the performance, each dancer receives two free tickets with each registration and additional tickets will be available for purchase. This camp is great for dancers looking to explore both cheer and dance team worlds. Enjoy making new friends, learning about cheer/dance teams and creating your own ND themed craft.

Through captivating dance challenges and Oz-some craft creations, this jazz and hip hop camp with a musical theater twist will cast a Wickedly Good spell of creativity, sprinkled with the magic of friendship!

Calling all swifties, this camp is for you! Come explore your hip hop era with sassy, high-energy moves and groves. This camp is nonstop fun with pop star music vibes. Dancers will learn hip hop skills, do crafts, and have snacks. Class Attire: Comfortable clothing with tennis shoes.

During this workshop, dancers will learn a fun, upbeat dance to perform after the Omaha Storm Chasers Baseball game and before the fireworks on Friday, June 20th at Werner Park! Price includes a t-shirt and the dancer’s ticket into the game. A link will be sent to parents to purchase additional tickets under our group rate.
