About The Dance Authority

The Dance Authority, established in 2001 in Omaha, Nebraska, offers a comprehensive and nurturing dance education for dancers of all ages. Led by Owner/Director Darci Bray and a tenured staff including Competition Team Facilitator Megan Jones, Competition Team Coordinator Jamie Gunn, and Instructor Jason Shimerdla, the studio fosters a family-oriented environment with a focus on individualized attention and smaller class sizes. TDA provides a diverse range of popular classes, including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop, and Lyrical, alongside specialized programs like 'Triple Threat,' 'Move and Groove,' 'Boys Hip-Hop,' and 'Ballet/Tap Combo.' For the youngest dancers, 'Mommy & Me' classes focus on early childhood movement and exploration. The studio boasts highly accredited competitive teams, including the Bitty, Mini/Petite, Academy, and Company programs, designed for dancers seeking advanced training and performance opportunities. These teams train with current and former professional dancers and are exposed to challenging, level-based technique classes, enhancing versatility. Dancers have opportunities to perform at community events and compete locally, regionally, and nationally. Beyond regular programming, The Dance Authority offers uniquely tailored summer dance camps designed to keep young dancers engaged and inspired, with customized offerings fitting various age, ability, and interest levels. The studio also hosts enriching masterclasses, bringing in renowned dancers and choreographers like Gev, Krista Miller, and Kylie Filotto from across the United States to provide invaluable insights and training to TDA Company members and the public alike.
