Driven by a passion to fill a void in arts education, Dr. Sheppard transformed an old post office into a dynamic space for creative exploration. Soulfood Studios offers a diverse range of programs, including artists' residencies and workshops for students in local schools and the wider Snake Valley community, with a commitment to process-oriented art education. While the studio fosters a broad spectrum of artistic expression, it notably embraces movement and performance. It has hosted acclaimed artists like Jason Nious and his group Molodi, who teach rhythm-based performance art such as step dancing and body percussion, providing unique opportunities for participants to explore various forms of artistic movement. Soulfood Studios is deeply committed to arts education for young people in the Baker area, extending its reach into local schools.
