HIP-HOP LEVEL 1 & 2
Hip-Hop Level 1 is the introduction to the style, which is a street dance form that evolved from hip-hop music and culture. The genre borrows elements from a number of different dance styles and music, providing our students with a more complete knowledge of the style.
AFRO CUBAN TECHNIQUE
Afro-Cuban dance is a fusion of African and Spanish cultures in Cuba, developed during the colonial period. It includes styles like Rumba, known for energetic footwork, Yoruba dances associated with religious practices, and folkloric dances representing various African traditions. Afro-Cuban dance has a global influence in salsa and other styles, and therefore is an integral part of our students’ salsa training.
YOUTH SALSA TEAM
Our Youth Salsa Team is an extra class that our students take on top of their other salsa technique classes. The class is only offered by invite or audition only. The students learn and practice choreography that they perform during our showcases and events around town. The team trains for salsa festivals and salsa competitions.
Youth Salsa 3
Youth Salsa 3 challenges our students by moving at a faster pace and introducing more advanced footwork. The class also incorporates more complex body movements and puts a specific emphasis on freestyling and stage presence.
Youth Salsa 2
Youth Salsa 2 expands on concepts from Level 1 and also introduces our students to more advanced concepts and footwork to build their technique. The class also puts more emphasis on musicality, body movement and styling technique.
Youth Salsa 1
Youth Salsa 1 is the introductory class in our Youth Salsa Program. The class focuses on timing, musicality, and weight transfer that is specific to and essential for Salsa training. They also learn creativity and expression with basic body movement and free styling.
CONTEMPORARY 1 AND 2
Contemporary 1 is the introductory class to the Contemporary genre, a style of interpretive dance that allows for more emotional expression and body movement. Combining elements of modern, jazz, lyrical, and ballet, Contemporary is an essential supplement to our students’ classical ballet training that embraces innovation and encourages creativity. Contemporary 2 is the second-level Contemporary class, in which our students learn intermediate and advanced Contemporary technique. They also continue to explore and improve their creativity and begin to experiment with improvisation and choreography.
CONDITIONING 2 and 3
Conditioning 2 continues to build students’ strength and flexibility. This class is essential for a well-rounded dancer, as it targets specific muscle groups to prevent injuries and improves posture and alignment. By building a strong foundation in physical fitness, our dancers are able to perform with precision and control. As students reach Conditioning 3, it is vital for a versatile dancer to continue to train and improve in strength, flexibility, and endurance. Establishing a robust fitness foundation enables our dancers to execute movements with precision, fosters artistic expression to their absolute ability, and develops well-rounded physical prowess and artistic finesse.
ACRO & CONDITIONING 1
Acro and Conditioning is a class dedicated to building our students’ strength, flexibility, and stamina. It also involves different forms of gymnastics, including tumbling, tosses, acrobatic lifts, and pyramids. Designed to encourage more well-rounded training, this class builds upon the fundamentals of our students’ training. The class is often structured in conjunction with concepts from other classes to help our students improve their technique in every style that they train in.
Ballet IV & V
Ballet IV and V increase in difficulty, as the class places more emphasis on pointe work, eventually requiring students to wear pointe shoes for longer amounts of time during class. Ballet IV and V are paired with Variation III, in which students practice and train in more challenging variations en pointe. These students are also selected by our instructors to compete in ballet competitions, and prepare for various summer intensives throughout the country. Ballet IV and V students are given many opportunities to showcase their hard work in our spring showcase and in our winter production of The Nutcracker with a Latin Twist- with most students dancing in principal roles.
Ballet III
Ballet III focuses on preparing our students for pointe work, and many students in this level begin dancing en pointe. The class increases in difficulty as they continue to develop their strength and flexibility, while also introducing more complex movements and combinations. The class is also paired with Variation II, in which our students continue to learn more challenging variations to build their repertoire. Ballet III students begin to showcase more of their technique in our winter and spring showcases, and select students train for ballet competitions and summer intensives.
Ballet II
Ballet II continues to strengthen students and challenge them as they learn new steps and different combinations at the barre and in the center of the room. Our Ballet II students work to refine their technique and improve their overall abilities. The class is also paired with Variation I, in which our students learn excerpts from well-known ballet productions and begin to develop their knowledge of the history of ballet.

Ballet I introduces students to barre technique as they begin to apply more complex movements and combinations to not only challenge their brains, but also continue to strengthen their muscles and improve the foundations of their ballet technique. The class also emphasizes the importance of flexibility and proper posture as students prepare for higher levels of training.
Pre Ballet
Our Pre-Ballet class is primarily a floor class that focuses on strengthening our young dancers and emphasizes the importance of correct technique, body alignment, and body placement. Students develop strength and flexibility, before moving to barre technique in Ballet I.
Primary Ballet
Our primary ballet class focuses on introducing fundamental ballet technique, coordination, and musicality to young dancers. The class typically starts with a warm-up, floor work, followed by ballet exercises like pliés and tendus, arm movements, and traveling exercises like skipping and chassés.
