Hip Hop/Breaking

Tap

Comfortable clothes that are fitted yet easy to move in. Leggings, cropped pants, tanks. Any style tap shoe.

Jazz/Contemporary/Turns&Leaps

Leggings, jazz pants, dance shorts, tank tops, anything that allows you to stretch and move freely. Jazz shoes, half shoes, socks, or bare feet.

Ballet

Leotard and tights, leggings and fitted tops, anything that enables the instructor to see your body lines to allow for proper correction. Ballet shoes are recommended. Hair pulled back.

Breaking

Calling all b-boys/b-girls! Introducing the FUNdamentals of breakdancing. Learn the variations of “standard” moves including freezes, powermoves, downrock, and toprock.

Acro / Tumbling

Students will learn tumbling and acrobatic skills and technique. The instructor will challenge each student individually, through progressions involving basic skills, strength and flexibility.

Hip Hop

Hip hop is evolved and diverse and has captured and transformed the dance world. Influenced by the choreographers who mold it, hip hop can be funky, smooth, hard-hitting, crazy, and just about anything. Students will have fun letting loose! learn and explore choreography, including new and old styles and techniques. We welcome students to just come in and DANCE!

Tap

Tap is rhythm and sound, and an excellent way to increase coordination of the mind and body and to develop a sense of rhythm, timing and expression! In tap class, students will learn and explore rhythm, sound, technique, terminology, style and history.

Core Conditioning / Pilates / PBT / Lab Rats

Supplemental classes created to give ideal and targeted conditioning and flexibility training customized for serious dancers.

Elements

Core supplemental class focusing on technique, alignment, active flexibility, and foundation training. The Rocks renowned Elements syllabus was developed by our founder Quinn Callahan.

Contemporary

Contemporary combines techniques developed from a collection of methods, including ballet and jazz, with a strong emphasis in modern technique. Strength, technique, body awareness, control, coordination and flexibility are utilized within contemporary class choreography.

Movement

Movement class gives our students the opportunity to learn and discover layers and dynamics within their movement. The possibilities are endless! This class is a favorite for both teachers and students.

Jazz

Jazz dance encompasses dynamic style and technique. Jazz class includes full body conditioning, progressions, center work, style and choreography covering all styles of jazz dance.

Ballet

Ballet is a highly technical dance foundation and essential for all students. Classes focus on technique and vocabulary, along with the discipline of regularly focused exercises. Barre and center work is designed to build a strong, beautiful, graceful, and healthy body with fine posture and poise. For a student to make appropriate progress in other dance forms, the study of ballet is necessary. With sufficient progress in the study of ballet, along with proper technique, a strong body, and faculty approval, a student may advance to pointe work.

Primary/Youth Elements

Primary TAP

Making sounds with your feet teaches musicality and coordination! Focus is on tap technique, foundation steps, music and rhythm!

Primary Hip Hop

This class is designed for students to let loose and dance while learning class etiquette and hiphop basics.! HipHop focused warm up, progressions, choreography and freestyle dance promote coordination, rhythm and confidence. There is one requirement for this class – FUN!

Primary Jazz

Students are introduced to the fundamentals of technique and vocabulary in Jazz foundation and important technique elements. New moves, coordination, flexibility, style, isolations, energy!!

Primary Ballet

One-hour lessons in ballet technique. An essential class for all aspiring young dancers.

Hip Hop ROCK

This class is designed as an introduction to Hip Hop. It’s a fun class where kids will learn coordination, rhythm, and how to GROOVE!

TumbleROCK

Students learn basic tumbling and acro basic skills. The structured class also builds agility and strength.

BalletROCK

A full hour of ballet class for our ROCK level, age 4-5. Simply beautiful exercises learning posture, stretch, legs, and feet with classical upper body positions.

ComboROCK

Combodance provides the same structure as Pre-dance, for ages 4-5. This busy class will build a solid foundation in dance technique fundamentals and classroom skills.

PreBALLET

PreBallet introduces the first steps and foundation of ballet and stretch for our youngest ballerinas.

PreDance

Students learn primary classroom etiquette and develop rhythm, balance, coordination, flexibility and basic fundamentals. A joyful and imaginative experience!

Dance With Me

Accompany your little one to their first dance experience! Through this introductory class, parents or caregivers can participate alongside their students in learning the basics and terminology of dance.
