Classes

Street Jazz

Street Jazz, also known as Jazz-Funk, combines the sharp technique of jazz with the style and energy of hip-hop. This class helps dancers connect precision with performance quality while building confidence and individuality. All levels focus on developing clean lines, isolations, and dynamic movement set to popular music.

Tumbling

Tumbling is the execution of acrobatic movements such as rolls, twists, handsprings or somersaults on floormats or on the ground. This class encourages children to explore such movements in a fun and safe environment. Students will work to develop coordination, mobility and skills, moving at their own pace and advancing as they master new skills.

Lyrical

Lyrical dance blends the techniques of jazz and ballet to create expressive movement that tells a story and conveys emotion. This class helps dancers develop the ability to connect their technical skills with artistic expression. All levels focus on building a solid foundation in ballet and jazz, emphasizing strong, controlled leg work combined with fluid, dynamic movement.

Hip Hop

Hip-hop is a style of dance that evolved from none other than the hip-hop culture and is typically danced to of course, hip hop music. This style of dance is probably the most different from the other forms. It is generally very energetic and allows the dancer to have freedom of movement within the routine and incorporate their personalities.

Tap

Tap dance is probably best known for the type of shoes the dancers wear. Tap dancers wear special shoes with metal taps on the soles that allow them to create their own sounds while they dance. All levels of tap focus on articulation of the feet in order to make crisp, clear sounds. Dancers will begin by learning basic tap steps, which they will gradually build upon as they advance in levels.

Jazz

Jazz is a very fun and energetic type of dance, and offers the dancer the chance to showcase personality through a very stylized form of dance. All levels of jazz focus on basic technique fundamentals. Each class will build upon isolations, leaps, kicks and turns using variations across the floor as well as center combinations. Every class will begin gradual warm-ups to strengthen each major muscle group as well as fine tune each dancer’s technical abilities.

Ballet

Ballet is often referred to as the backbone of dance. It is what builds a strong technical foundation for all forms of dance. Ballet is used to tell a story relying heavily on technique and requires an enormous amount of diligence and dedication. Each classical ballet class will begin with barre work, to refine muscular and technical skill. After the barre, the class will spend time working on skills either across the floor or in the center.
