Tutu School is a collection of boutique-style ballet schools that cater specifically to children 6 months to 8 years-old. Our mission is simple: We believe that exposing children at the earliest possible age to creativity, movement, and classical music will only serve them well in whatever they choose to do with their lives, that dancing like swans and Sugar Plum Fairies not only exercises little bodies but also nurtures big imaginations, and that twirling should be a fundamental part of any childhood.

Tutu School asks students in its older divisions to wear leotards or fitted shirts with tights or leggings and ballet slippers. Please tuck in all drawstrings on slippers, and secure long hair away from the face as much as possible. No specific color or style of dancewear is required, and tutus and skirts are absolutely permitted – naturally!

In the Primary Ballet Prep division we develop pure, fundamental ballet technique that will eventually allow our students to graduate to a more disciplined study of the craft – when their growing bodies are ready. In the meantime, we’ll continue to practice our pliés with a healthy helping of magical fun, thank you.

Classes in our Exploring Ballet division strike a perfect balance between structure and creativity. In this division we begin carefully laying the earliest foundation of ballet technique, but we always compliment our class work with fun, imaginative activities that keep young dancers captivated, engaged, and utterly in love with ballet.

Our goal in our Tutu Toddlers division is to work with you to engage your little one and give them an early experience with ballet they’ll never forget. Why? Because at Tutu School we believe that exposing children at a very early age to creativity, movement, and music can only lead to good things. The core purpose of Tutu Toddlers classes is to get little ones in a room with music and movement, and to give them space to fall in love with both! Tutu Toddlers are discovering all of the wonderful things their little, growing bodies can do. Exploring new ways of moving through dance stories and games builds both coordination and confidence. We never expect Tutu Toddlers to come to Tutu School knowing how to take a class, share props, or take turns – that's a part of what we get to start learning together!

Ballet for babies? We’re so glad you asked. It’s never too early to expose little ones to movement and music, and Baby Ballet is a carefully curated curriculum for infants aged 6-18 months, with lots of opportunities to foster both caregiver bonding and age-appropriate development.

Level A is for 5-6 year olds and Level B is for 6-8 year olds.

Children in this division start learning basic barre exercises, but continue to also spend part of each class dancing like butterflies, learning ballet stories, and just being generally creative. Students are asked to wear leotards or fitted shirts with tights or leggings and ballet slippers. Tutus and skirts are absolutely permitted.

Caregiver participation is required in our Tutu Toddlers division. The role of the caregiver is to support their little dancer, as much as or as little as they need. Supporting your dancer may include physical support, cognitive support, and/or emotional support. Exposure to music and movement alongside other children similar in age can only lead to good things! Twirling will likely appear in playtime at home after weeks of attending class.

Caregiver participation is required in our Baby Ballet division. The role of the caregiver is to support their little dancer, as much or as little as they need. Supporting your baby may include physical support, cognitive support, and/or emotional support. Exposure to classical music in childhood has been shown to stimulate brain activity and enhance auditory awareness, and infants who are exposed to regular physical movement opportunities demonstrate an increase in gross motor development.

Non Members are welcome at this special Tutu School Reno Event! Join us for Holiday Cookie Decorating with Princess Elsa! We will supply cookie, cookie decorating supplies and special picture time with Princess Elsa! We will open the doors at exactly 5:00pm, so please arrive on time!

Join us for a special afternoon of Holiday Cookie Decorating with Princess Elsa! We will be providing cookies, assorted cookie decorating supplies and special picture time with Princess Elsa. Please arrive by 5:00pm. We will welcome everyone into the studio at 5:00pm.

Imagine spending fun-filled camp days exploring the enchanted and enriching world of ballet! On any given day at Tutu Camp, a child might take a ballet class, decorate costumes, learn the story of a famous ballet, or even take part in a production of their own creation. Many of our camp sessions focus on a different ballet story from the classical repertoire, and favorites include: Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, The Firebird, and Cinderella. Campers do not need to have prior ballet experience to participate, but they should be prepared for a lot of leaping, twirling, and imaginative adventures!
