Showbiz Kidz Dance Center

This class is an exciting 30 to 60 minute class where dancers will work on conditioning, flexibility, and tumbling skills. Students will learn how to perform the basics, such as forward rolls and cartwheels, and progress to back handsprings and back tucks as they progress. Your dancer is sure to enjoy themselves as they become stronger every day!

Tap is a 30 minute class where dancers will learn tempo, rhythm, and how to properly perform advanced Tap steps. Students will learn Tap terminology, with an emphasis on listening to their music and keeping in time. Tap classes are a great way for dancers to learn how to dance together with their classmates to Tap in perfect unison!

Jazz is a fun, one-hour, high energy class where dancers will learn sharp and fluid movements to create a visually technical dance. Students will learn jazz terminology, with an emphasis on proper technique, learning or perfecting leaps, turns and across the floor combinations. Jazz classes are a great work out for all ages and are sure to bring out your dancer’s sassy side!

Hip Hop class is either 30, 45 or 60 minutes depending on age. These classes are for dancers who like self-expression and physical challenges. Find your own style in this class that explores poppin’ and locking as well as freestyle movement using current trends and styles! Our Hip Hop classes teach rhythm and musicality, coordination and choreography.

This class is an hour or an hour and 15 minutes and teaches basic or continuing tap technique (depending on age) as well as jazz dance technique with across-the-floor exercises and choreography combinations. Students will learn dance terminology, work on increasing flexibility and strength and learn proper technique, alignment and movement quality. Set to jazz and pop music, jazz/tap classes are a great workout and fun for all ages.

A 30 minute class for our youngest dancers teaching creative movement in a structured learning environment. Dancers will learn fun songs, basic dance steps, and have stimulation with toys, fun props, and obstacle courses. Dancers will learn classroom skills such as following directions and working with others.

This half hour class is taken in conjunction with Ballet. Combining the styles of Ballet and Jazz, Lyrical allows students to express emotion through movement. Dancers are taught to interpret movement with feeling, motion and style. They will learn to tell a story or create the picture of the song.

This one-hour class is the foundation of most modern day dance forms. Beginning at an introductory level, this beautiful and demanding technique is a necessity for all young dancers. There is a strong emphasis on technique and terminology, while working on body alignment and poise. Class time will consist of barre work, while executing basic through advanced ballet steps (depending on Level). Intermediate/Advanced dancers will learn more detailed combinations, continue with barre work, and execute center work, consisting of combining multiple steps, jumps and turns.

Musical Theater is either 45 or 60 minutes depending on age. Dancers will learn fun songs from Broadway pieces and movies, learning to act as well as dance! This class is a big hit with students that have a passion for acting and drama. Students will have the opportunity to act out their favorite scenes, with their theatrical facial expressions and fun choreography!

A One Hour class for 5-8 year old’s where students will continue learning the basic fundamentals of ballet and tap, and will perform a routine in each style, in our year end recital. Along with the introduction of skills and technique, instructors continue to help dancers improve their flexibility, coordination and rhythm, using age appropriate music.

A 45 minute class for pre-schoolers teaching ballet, tap and creative movement. Dancers will learn basic steps and terminology in ballet and tap, using age appropriate music. Students may use fun props during class and will improve flexibility and coordination and develop an enjoyment of dance and movement as well as a positive self-image. Dancers will learn classroom skills such as following directions, standing on a line, and working with others.
