Under the passionate direction of Melissa King-McKnight, a seasoned dance educator and choreographer with over 23 years of experience, the studio revives the cherished space of her childhood dance studio, Fran's World of Dance. Melissa's dream of owning her own studio has come to fruition, bringing the art of dance back to the community. Her extensive background includes competitive success with the Legacy Dance Company and Dance Rave New York, professional experience with Carnival Cruise Line, and study at the prestigious Jose Limon Institute and Rider University in conjunction with the Princeton Ballet School, earning a BA in Dance. She is also a certified acrobatics instructor with the Association of Acrobatic Arts. Evolution Dance Center offers a diverse range of dance disciplines for students of all ages, from toddlers to adults. The curriculum includes foundational techniques in Ballet, Jazz, and Tap, alongside energetic Hip Hop, expressive Lyrical/Contemporary, and dynamic Acrobatics & Tumbling. Specialized classes like 'Intro to Dance,' 'Ballet, Tap & Acro Dance,' 'Dancing Divas,' 'Boys Hip Hop & Tumbling,' 'Jumps, Turns & Leaps,' and 'Stretch & Conditioning' cater to specific interests and skill development. Aspiring performers can find their niche in Musical Theater. High-quality instruction is provided by an experienced team of instructors, including Miss Rebeca, Miss Kylah, Mr. Justin, Miss Imani, Miss Hadar, Miss Kristen, Miss Katia, Miss Leandra, Miss Bri, Miss Jocelyn, Miss Sandi, Miss Melissa, and Miss Mariella. The studio fosters a supportive environment with dedicated company programs like the "EMERGE" and "EVOLVE" teams, alongside competitive programs such as the Legacy Dance Company and Dance Rave New York. Adult dancers can enjoy a comprehensive schedule of evening dance and fitness classes, including Adult Tap and Adult Hip Hop. Registration is now open for the 2025-2026 Fall Schedule.
