Leslie's Dance Studio

Our Performance Team is for the dancer 7th grade and older who is ready to show commitment to the art of dance and further their skills and abilities in numerous dance styles. In addition to camaraderie amongst the team members, they will gain confidence, teamwork skills, and performance experiences throughout the year at various events in and around our community like “Trunk or Treat and Resorts "Toys for Tots" and a few new ones this year. This is not a competitive team and you will not have to audition (this year), but you must be enrolled in three other subjects of your choice at LDS.

This is a major production number for ages 6 and up that opens up our recital.

Learn classic Broadway theater dance movement and styles from your favorite musicals. Participants will study choreography, vocal, acting, and history of theater.

an American art form adapted from ballet using graceful and exciting bodily movements to express emotions.

an expressive form of dance that fuses modern, jazz, lyrical, and ballet with a song connection between emotion and movement.

a high energy class full of funky street-smart choreography primarily danced to hip hop music. It includes a wide variety of styles such as breaking, popping, locking and krumping.

We incorporate a series of conditioning techniques to build up the student's body strength with focus on flexibility and hand and elbow balancing. An Acro and tumbling series is taught with advanced tricks, skills, and conditioning.

Concentration is on motor skills, balance, and flexibility. We focus on learning hand to foot coordination, and beginner flexibility skills. This is a great way for our level 1 students to start their foundation for acro and tumbling. The focus is on flexibility, handstand work, beginner acro skills, and beginner/intermediate tumbling skills as well.

beginner Acro for ages 4,5, and 6. Mastering a forward roll and a cartwheel is the goal!

dancing on the tips of your toes can only be effortless and expressive after a ballerina has trained for several years and her body, legs, and feet are strong enough to lift her up and down. Good pointework looks graceful and feminine. Students must get permission from Miss Leslie to enroll in this class.

is a beautiful art form which is the foundation for all types of dance. An inventive application of techniques is introduced using various musical patterns and coordinated combinations. Grace, poise, and posture are emphasized.

teaches a sense of rhythm and timing, develops an alert and thinking mind, and improves coordination. Dance steps and combinations are taught along with tap techniques and choreographed routines.

is a free-form technique set to today's popular music. Emphasis in each class is placed on floor stretches, isolations, across the floor combinations, and high-energy dancing. Professionally choreographed jazz pieces are presented to each class.
