Specialized programs cater to different age groups, including "Twinkle Star Dance," built upon Skill Building, Center Movement, Just for Fun, and Showtime, and age-appropriate classes like Twinkle Babies, Twinkle Stars, Show Stars, and advanced SR. levels. Classes

Adult Classes

Dust off those dance shoes or try something new! All adult classes can be combine with child classes for studio multi-class discount!

Private Lessons

One on one training is available in all genres. Time available dependent on teacher/studio availability. Please contact the director for pricing and details.

Musical Theater/Theater Jazz/Creative Movement

This class concentrates on character dancing from famous Broadway musicals. Students will use improvisation and theater games to explore the world of acting and movement.

Conditioning

Through a series of strengthening and stretching exercises, students will improve overall body strength, tone, and flexibility.

Boys Combo Class

Students will learn Tap, Jazz and Hip Hop throughout the year.

Drama

Students will receive instruction in character dance and acting. Improvisation and theatre games will be utilized to improve acting technique.

Acro

A style of dance that combines classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements.

Hip Hop

An energetic style of dance that is rhythmic and free and often uses quick, sharp movement.

Contemporary/Modern

Drawing from all dance techniques, contemporary is mostly expressive and dynamic and challenges the limitations of other types of dance.

Tap

Rhythms are made with the feet using special shoes with taps on the toes and heels.

Jazz

Dance that is usually upbeat and characterized by rhythms and a number of different styles.

Ballet

A form of classical dance, usually graceful and precise, that uses formal steps to create expression.

SR. (Levels I-III)

Students in Middle/High School learn basic to advanced dance techniques in that genre. Upper levels offer a challenging curriculum to serve dedicated dancers seeking an in-depth experience or interest in pursuing dance and theatre professionally. So levels/classes do require director approval to join. Dancers will spend at least 2-3 years in each level before moving “up”.

Show Stars (Mini & JR. Levels)

Students continue to develop their technique and begin to prepare for upper-level classes in that genre. Dancers are placed according to their age and prior dance experience.

Twinkle Stars

Children ages 3-6 will love this program which teaches jazz, tap, ballet, and creative movement. Children are placed by age and learn a curriculum that will get them ready for the next level. Dancers will use their "Twinkle Bear" and class props like hula hoops, scarves, and magic wands to help foster their dance technique. Dancers will have two performances a year December and June.

Twinkle Babies

Children ages 2-3 will love this teacher/student age-appropriate 30-minute class containing ballet and creative movement. Dancers will learn basic steps and terminology in these styles while gaining confidence and creativity within a positive environment. This is a non-performing introduction to dance class.

Twinkle Buddies

Children 18 months through 2.5 will dance alongside a parent, relative, or caregiver and will engage in a variety of music and movement activities together. This class is great for a young child who is not ready yet for a teach/student class setting. Adult “buddies” will be expected to move/dance along their little. This is a non-performing introduction to dance class.

BSDPA is committed to offering a high standard of training in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Modern, Contemporary, Modern, Drama, Musical Theatre, and Acro. The curriculum offers a strong emphasis on form, artistry, and technique in many dance genres. All students are taught relevant dance terminology and performing skills, as well as awareness and knowledge of theatre and stage presence. From the beginning of their training, students are given a solid technical foundation while simultaneously experiencing creativity and fun. Our classes for younger students are geared toward fostering a love for dance and movement.
