Adult Tap Classes

Fulfill a dream. Learn something new. Make music with your feet! TAP is for any age and can help strengthen legs and feet, improve balance, and benefit cognitive functioning. Classes begin with a warmup and focus on learning single classic tap steps, then incorporating them into a series of combinations and short pieces of choreography. Each class is set to fun and lively music spanning several decades. Attire: Tap shoes and comfortable clothing.

Adult Modern Classes

This class will use the concepts of energy, counterflow, opposition, and suspension. It will explore these concepts through a standing warm-up, floor work, and phrases moving across the floor. The class will focus on the sounds, and rhythms to help the students understand the nuance of movement.

Adult Ballet Classes

The class will begin at the Barre and progress to the center, then moving across the floor combinations while using traditional ballet techniques and terminology. This class will stress healthy placement of your body, musically, and artistry.

Tap

Our Tap Program is based on the Al Gilbert Tap Syllabus. The Al Gilbert Graded Tap System simply makes teaching tap easy. There are 10 levels in all beginning with simple shuffles and flaps and progressing to more advanced wings and pullbacks. Each step is broken down in a systematic, fool-proof way making learning exact and easy. Each level builds upon steps that have been learned in previous levels. This syllabus routinely and properly trains each dancer to advance from beginning exercises to advanced combinations with ease.

Pointe

Dancers are promoted to pointe work at age 11, and after completion of Level I and II ballet syllabus. Dancers who attend pointe class must attend a minimum of two ballet technique classes per week on a regular basis

Acrobatics

Floor work only. Students learn the proper technique and develop flexibility for tumbling from beginner to advanced (i.e. forward/backward rolls, backbends, cartwheels, handstands, handstand backbend and many more) as they progress through the years.

Level IV

Advanced, having successfully completed Levels I, II & III syllabus and two years pointe technique.

Level III

Intermediate, having completed Levels I & II syllabus.

Level II

Low intermediate, having completed Level I syllabus.

Level I

The level I dancer is an advanced beginner or graduate of our elementary program.

Tumbling Time

Designed for the beginner, focusing on basic techniques for acrobatics, building the student's motor skills (both gross and fine), as well as strength and balance.

Private Lessons

One-on-one dance instruction tailored to individual student needs, providing personalized feedback and technique refinement.

Master Classes

Specialized dance classes offering advanced instruction and technique development, potentially involving guest instructors.
