Classes

ADULT CLASSES

Adult classes are 1 hour long per week and are for dancers ages 19 and up. Students will learn the foundations of both Ballet and Tap as well as improve their flexibility and balance.

ACRO

In this class students will strengthen their flexibility as well as learn basic tumbling skills. Students DO NOT learn a routine to this class.

LYRICAL

Lyrical classes are 30 minutes long and are for dancers 8-19 years old. Lyrical dance is a style of dance created from the fusion of ballet with jazz and contemporary dance technique. Typically, this style of dance tells a story.

HIP HOP

Hip-Hop classes are 30 minutes long and are for dancers 5-19 years old. Hip-Hop dance refers to street dance styles primarily performed to hip-hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture. It includes a wide range of styles primarily breaking, locking and popping.

TAP

Tap classes are 30 minutes long and are for dancers 5-19 years old. In this class students learn how to do movements with their heels and toes. Full footed shoes with metal plates on the bottom are used. In these challenging classes, students will learn to move quickly by bending their knees and moving their lower body.

JAZZ

Jazz classes are 30 minutes long and are for dancers ages 5-19 years old. Jazz dance classes use upbeat, age appropriate music. Students learn to move at a quick pace to form different formations and isolations. Jumps, leap and turns are also taught in this class.

POINTE

Pointe classes are 30 minutes to 1 hour long. Students need to be evaluated before taking this class. They need to meet all requirements and must be physically and technically ready for advancement. Pointe technique is the part of classical ballet that concerns pointe work, in which a ballet dancer supports all body weight on the tips of fully extended feet.

BALLET

Ballet classes are 30 minutes to 1 hour long and for dancers of all ages! Ballet dance is a classical dance form demanding grace and precision. It employs formalized steps and gestures set in intricate, flowing patterns to create expression through movement. In these classes, students will work on technique as well as strengthening their core and leg muscles.

PRIMARY CLASSES

Primary I and II classes are offered to children ages 5-8 years old. This class is 30 minutes of Ballet and 30 minutes of Tap. In this class students experience a more disciplined class that focuses more on technique.

PRE-SCHOOL CLASSES

A 45 minute class that teaches young starting dancers how to make friends, learn choreography, and small discipline lessons. All students will do tumbling exercises, stretches as well as learn a Ballet and Tap routine.
