Advanced Division

DANCE FOR PARKINSON’S DISEASE

This dance class is appropriate for anyone with PD, no matter how advanced. No dance experience is required. In chairs, at a barre or standing, participants will explore elements of modern dance, ballet, tap, folk and social dancing. The class uses choreographic repertory in a stimulating, non-pressured and social environment, with live music to energize, enrich and empower.

PLACEMENT CLASS

Placement Classes are the best way to ensure that incoming Academy students are in a level that best serves their personal development as a dancer. A placement class is required for students interested in Level 1 and up.

SUMMER CLASSES

Explore dance through a variety of classes during the five-week summer session. No prior dance experience required for most classes. Classes available at Charlotte Ballet’s Center for Dance in Uptown Charlotte and Cain Center for the Arts in Cornelius.

JUNIOR INTENSIVE

The Jr. Intensive is designed to help students age 9-12 build strength and technique in preparation for more advanced programs. Both daytime and evening options are available.

DROP-IN CLASSES

Charlotte Ballet Academy offers dance classes for students in a range of ages and with different levels of ability. Drop in classes include Adult Drop In classes, Intersession classes, and Master Classes.

PRE-PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM

Year-round pre-professional dance training in ballet, pointe, male and female variations, pas de deux, men’s technique, modern and jazz. By audition only.

ACADEMY CLASSES

Charlotte Ballet Academy offers dance classes for students in a range of ages and with different levels of ability. Classes include the highest quality of instruction in ballet, modern, jazz technique and more.

SUMMER INTENSIVE

Since its inception in 2000, Charlotte Ballet’s Summer Intensive program has been recognized for encouraging students to go beyond their technical training, explore new movement and further expand their versatility as dancers. The program includes diverse classes, strong training, supportive faculty and beautiful studios.
