Visions Dance Academy

All-inclusive program for children ages 2-5 years, allowing children to develop social skills and talents at a young age. Children participate in dance, yoga, music, & art. The goal is to enhance each child’s overall development by advancing gross and fine motor skills and improving social, cognitive, and emotional awareness.

Requires a black leotard, pink tights, and hair to be worn in a bun.

Requires comfy clothes that should be black in color, including black sweatpants, a Visions T-shirt or solid black T-shirt, black yoga pants, fitted dance tops/sports bra, and tennis shoes. No jeans allowed.

For ages 8 and up, requires pink leather ballet shoes (split sole) to be fitted, tan or black tap shoes to be fitted or recommended, and tan gore boot jazz shoes to be fitted or recommended.

For ages 3-7, requires pink ballet shoes (no drawstring) to be fitted at the studio, tan tap shoes to be fitted, a pink colored leotard, and optional but recommended tights.

For 2.5 year olds, requires pink ballet shoes (no drawstring) that should be fitted at the studio, a pink colored leotard, and optional but recommended tights.

Does your child love to express themselves through dance? Help fuel their passion by signing them up for our recreational dance classes! Unlike our other programs, this one is more relaxed, with students only being required to come in once a week. But that doesn’t mean your child will get less. These classes will teach them the basics of all dance styles as well as dance and life skills such as creative movement, vocabulary, and performance. It’s the perfect environment for them to develop their creativity, social skills, confidence, and so much more!

Visions Dance Academy is known nationally for our diverse choreography and top-level training that stress both the importance of proper technique and the passion for doing what you love. Our competition dance classes are designed for the more serious dancer and group students together by age and ability, requiring them to complete a specific number of training hours based on their level. The program covers all genres but focuses on ballet, technique, strength training, and competitive dance performance preparation. Our goal is to equip each competitive student with all the tools they need to go out and keep honing their craft on their own long after their training is complete through our top-notch mentoring, high-quality instruction, expert teachers, intensive classes, and positive learning environment.

Also known as floor gymnastics, our no-equipment tumbling classes help students build strength, stamina, and flexibility through running and standing tumbling, handstands, cartwheels, round-offs, and back handsprings.

Hip hop is a style of urban street dance that consists of upbeat, rhythmic dance moves. Our hip hop dance classes teach students age-appropriate elements of popping and locking and freestyle movement to age-appropriate funky popular music. Our goal is the help each student develop their own style.

Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. Contemporary dancers strive to connect the mind and the body through fluid dance movements.

An expression of a song lyrics through technical and disciplined movements, lyrical dance requires strength, flexibility, and proper alignment on the part of the dancer. This is why our lyrical dance classes emphasize stretching, technique work, leaps, and turns.

Jazz is a high energy dance consisting of stretching, jumping, and rhythmic dance moves. Our jazz dance classes emphasize proper execution of jazz isolations performed to contemporary music and ensure that all music selections and dance moves are age appropriate.

Tap is all about rhythms, intricate footwork, and movements that create a percussion instrument out of the dancer’s feet. Our tap classes focus on choreography, basic tap technique, and terminology and teach steps in the center and across the floor.

A classical form creating expression through movement, ballet provides a foundation for all other styles of dance. Our ballet classes revolve around the Ballet Barre, Center, and across the floors movements, staying focused on technique, proper body alignment, terminology, and musicality every step of the way.
