The studio has had great success in local and regional competitions winning numerous high awards at both the recreational and elite levels. Combination Dance II: Ballet, Tap and Jazz

The curriculum includes progressively advanced ballet, tap and jazz instruction. Students will continue to build on their technique, style, and dance terminology along with enhancing their knowledge in more advanced forms of dance. Instruction in jazz, an American form of dance marked by movement isolations and complex, propulsive rhythms, leaps and turns, is begun at age 8. The beginning level includes stretches, isolations, barre work and simple movements and progresses to turns, hops, leaps and more complex choreography at a faster tempo. Class will be broken down into sections and progressively advancing choreography, leaps, turns and dance terminology in all three dance styles will be taught. As students progress, complex dance combinations will be introduced to strengthen their range of flexibility and build strength and endurance, helping them develop their overall athletic ability.

Combination Dance I: Ballet, Tap and Tumbling

The curriculum includes fundamental ballet, tap and tumbling instruction. Ballet is the basic foundation of all dance forms - teaching proper body alignment, carriage, grace and poise. Barre exercises develop flexibility and strength, while center work allows students to practice classic dance principles. Tap instruction combines the study of rhythmic foot patterns, precision and fluidity of movement and style, challenges students to count steps and increase the coordination between mind and body. Jazz instruction is an American dance form which evolves and changes with the latest popular styles. Tumbling is the floor section of gymnastics and teaches flexibility, balance, strength, muscle control, discipline and concentration as well as spatial awareness. Floor mats are used to teach students safe techniques for rolls, headstands, walkovers, handsprings and other gymnastic tricks.
