Kindred Arts Collective, located in Shawnee, Oklahoma, is a vibrant hub for artistic expression dedicated to fostering a love for dance across all ages. Under the leadership of Owner and Director Emily Nickerson, the studio cultivates a supportive and dynamic environment for dancers of all levels. We offer a comprehensive curriculum encompassing foundational disciplines and performance-focused programs. Our Community Program nurtures young talent through age-specific groups, from Mini Movers (Pre-K - 2nd grade) to Premier Performers (9th-12th grade), focusing on proper technique and safety in styles like Ballet and Tap. For aspiring competitive dancers, our Competition Program, open to students in 3rd-12th grade (with considerations for younger experienced dancers), provides a dynamic platform to elevate skills. This program emphasizes foundational technique in Ballet, Clogging, and Jazz, fostering growth through regular classes, workshops, community involvement, and teamwork. Participation in summer programs is crucial for competition team aspirants. Our dedicated team of instructors includes Isabella Flocks (Acro, Jazz, Lyrical, Pom), Kasey Carter (Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical), and Piper Bush (Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Acro), who also serves as an Associate Instructor Mentor. We also welcome younger dancers with programs like Mommy & Me. Competitive performers are supported through our Prime and Premiere groups, guided by Ashley Pierce. Kindred Arts Collective is committed to cultivating talented dancers and providing a high-quality dance education for the Shawnee community, preparing them for regional and national recognition.
