West End Academy of Dance

Music and movement with a grown-up is a fun way to develop social skills, gross and fine motor skills, and most of all, it is a great time for meeting new friends while bonding with your little one! Instruments, props and dancing make this class a hit for infants, toddlers and grown-ups too!

Using their dance shoes for the first time, these tiny dances will be practicing creative movement while we introduce them to ballet and tap motions. Dancers will learn about rhythm, flexibility, posture, and the importance of stretching and following directions. Fostering a love of dance at a young age is one of the goals of this class. Dancers can expect to giggle, use props, plie, shake tambourines, shuffle-step, and so much more.

Dancing with your heard is our definition of lyrical dancing. It is a combination of ballet and jazz styles that use emotions within the dance to express oneself to the audience. We pride ourselves in challenging our lyrical students to reach out of their comfort zones and learn choreography to express joy sorrow, anger, love, and so much more.

Get your body moving in our jazz classes where students explore a variety of styles from classical jazz to Bob Fosse, there is something for everyone to enjoy. We offer a variety of levels to allow our dancers to grow. Dancers may begin taking jazz at age 7 so dancers have enough ballet experience giving them a basic foundation of movements that we will be building upon in our classes.

Rhythm Tap and Broadway (Theatrical) Tap styles are both taught during our classes. We enrich our dancers knowledge and skills with a variety of tap dances and music throughout the year. Dancers will learn how to use their feet as instruments to add to the music or to create their own. We offer a range of levels suitable for many different ages and skill levels.

As a foundation to many styles of dance, ballet is a key starting point for our dances. Self-discipline, flexibility, agility, good posture and balance are just some of the skills they will work on in all of their ballet classes at W.E.A.D.. From Pre-ballet to pointe, we provide students with opportunities to grow as a ballerina or learn dance in another style after learning the basics.

With a shared passion for teaching and a nurturing approach, they empower students to embrace their creativity, build confidence, and discover the joy of dance in a positive and supportive setting.

My three year old daughter has been taking dance classes this season and loving it! Her teachers are so wonderful and have so much patience. Can't wait to see her recital this spring.
