A private lessons are so much fun plus allows us to work one-on-one with you to achieve your goals at your own pace and with the privacy that some prefer. Private lessons can be scheduled more flexibly rather than having to fit into a group class schedule. They enable you to effectively learn the most advanced technique. The fastest way to improve your dancing is through private lessons. You may ask to focus on details you want to work on. Private lessons progress at your own pace. Privates are booked to meet your scheduling needs. Privates allow you 100% individualized attention from your teacher. Your teacher can customize your choreography to maximize your strengths. Private lessons provide a discreet environment where you can ask questions you may not want to ask in front of a large group. Privates enable you to feel the highest quality technique, instead of just listening and watching. Private lessons are your most effective tool to taking your dancing to a performance/competition level of proficiency.

Professionally trained elite performance competition team. KGSD Company dancers are trained in hip hop, many other genres of dance including lyrical, contemporary, and ballet. We prepare multiple dances as one company, as well as trios, duets, and soloists. KGSD performs locally as well as across the country. We have performed 2x Half Time for the Orange Bowl in Miami, Fl. Performed many times for the Harlem Globetrotters, 76ers. KGSD has performed live with Andy Grammer, The Jonas Brothers, and Half time for Arena Football, just to name a few. KGSD also 2019 National Hip Hop Champions with each KGSD dancer ranking in the top 10 on the National level. KGSD Dance Company promotes self-confidence and awareness of inner beauty, while improving professional dance knowledge, enhancing dancers’ technique, encouraging dedication as a performer, and attending a variety of workshops and competitions throughout the year. Provide dancers with a successful and meaningful educational experience. Company members will be challenged over the course of this year in addition to being coached to their maximum potential on and off the stage.

Jazz is an isolation of movements, precise leg, arm and foot movements, breathtaking jumping techniques and twists. Jazz refers to a modern style that combines ballet technique with elements of contemporary. At KGSD our Jazz is… Happy, exciting, fun, sassy and encouraging! We encourage our dancers to develop and show their attitude or sass on the dance floor :) We will warm up in the center and learn a combination for the center as well as across the floor. We love to have the dancers improvise to show there not only dancing skills but acting and emotions as well! We want our dancers to feel confident and inspired! Everyone brings their own positivity and it just brightens the studio! We strive to instill confidence and love in our dancers.

A form of theatrical performance that combines songs, spoken dialogue, acting and dance. At KGSD our musical theatre is… Happy, alive, exciting, fun, uplifting, and encouraging! We love to use Broadway musical music in class. We encourage our dancers to develop and show their attitude or sass in class :) We will warm up in the center to fun Broadway Musical music, learn a combination for the center as well as across the floor. We love to have the dancers improvise to show their true Broadway acting/dancing skills! We want our dancers to feel confident and inspired! Everyone brings their own positivity and it just brightens the studio!

Ballet is an art form created by the movement of the human body, it can tell a story or express a thought, concept or emotion. Ballet can be magical, exciting, or inspiring. At KGSD our ballet is... Fun, happy, uplifting, inspiring, and spirited. Our ballet consists of implementing many Disney favorites as well as positive, inspirational beautiful music. We start with our favorite.. a socially distant friendship circle. Followed by beautiful plies and stretching on the ballet barre. center work, across the floor, and some of our fun, happy child directed dances! We strive to make every dancer feel special, beautiful, and confident while at the studio and inside!

A dance performed wearing shoes fitted with metal taps, characterized by rhythmical tapping of the toes and heels. At KGSD our tap is... Extremely fun, happy, and funky! Freeing, motivating, extremely fun, happy, inspiring, and spirited. We will do a fun friendship circle and work at the barre to warm up. Learn combinations and steps in the center. Also we love creating a dance that we elaborate and expand on throughout the year. At KGSD we want our dancers to have so much fun and learn so much! We are here to motivate you, help you, and grow with you!

Lyrical - expressing the writer's emotions in an imaginative and beautiful way (has more of a ballet and technique based background). Contemporary - a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and contemporary ballet. At KGSD our lyrical/contemporary is... Free, loving, motivating, fun, happy, uplifting, inspiring, spirited. We combine both lyrical and contemporary into the one class isolating the different genres. There is improvisation, freedom of movement, your own dancing to show who you are or how you want to portray a particular dance. We also learn combinations, using creativity, imaginative stories depicted through dance in place and across the floor. We use our emotions and we always seek to tell a story or emote feelings by our movements in dance. In lyrical/contemporary we want to motivate and empower our dancers to reach for new goals and accomplish anything they wish!

Hip-hop dance is a unique and exciting style of street dance that is most commonly performed to hip-hop music. Hip-hop dance is a vibrant form of dance that combines a variety of freestyle movements to create a cultural piece of art. At KGSD our hip hop is… Exciting, fun, inspiring, groovy, challenging, and out of this world! Miss Marissa teaches many different styles of hip hop from locking to popping, footwork, house, old-school, vogue, waacking, and so much more! There is a variety of music we use ranging from the last few years to many years ago. We want to challenge, empower, and make every dancer feel confident in themselves so they can walk away feeling amazing!

Classical ballet is any of the traditional, formal styles of ballet that exclusively employ classical ballet technique. It is known for its aesthetics and rigorous technique (such as pointe work, turnout of the legs, and high extensions), its flowing, precise movements, and its exquisite qualities. At KGSD our Classical Ballet and Ballet on Pointe is… Strong, uplifting, inspiring, happy, fun, and radiates positivity. We teach The Royal Academy of Dance educational program. We implement traditional classical ballet music as well as a mixture of contemporary music, plus uplifting, fun classics. We start at the ballet barre, stretch at the barre, training with The Royal Academy proper technique. Followed by center work and across the floor combinations enhancing their skills and technique. Finally, many times we are able to learn a center combination that we love to incorporate in a dance. Dancers on Pointe will wear their pointe shoes for the barre warmup, center work, and across the floor. If the dancer is new to Pointe they will switch into their ballet technique shoes when they feel necessary through the class. In Classical Ballet and Ballet on Pointe we strive for all of our dancers to feel strong, confident, beautiful, be ambitious, and we want to challenge everyone so they can be the best version of themselves!
