PA DanceSport Ballroom

USISTD (United States Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance) offers medal testing evaluation and awards at PA DanceSport semi-annually. An experienced adjudicator visits the ballroom for a day of judging both International and American dance styles. Students may dance with instructors or with an amateur partner to demonstrate their knowledge of syllabus figures for a score. A medal and certificate from USISTD is then awarded. This is a way to mark progress, distinguish yourself and validate performance.

Work with talented instructors to create your own dance routine that demonstrates what you have learned. Routines can be serious or comical, complex or simple. The choice is yours. Students may invite friends and family to celebrate their success at two yearly signature events—the Summer Sundance in June and the Winter Exhibition in December. These spectacular events highlight the dynamic annual schedule at PA DanceSport Ballroom. They bring together Friends, Family and The Dance Community at-large to celebrate the culmination of many months of hard —yet rewarding— work by our Students and Staff.

If the big day is approaching and you and your loved one want to capture a memorable first dance, then PA DanceSport should be your first and only call. With the help of our highly experienced instructors, you will learn a dance routine that is sure to amaze your guests, and will be an unforgettable experience. Father/bride and Mother/groom dances are also prepared!

Our private lessons are perfect for beginners and advanced dancers of all ages and are the best way to learn technique and movement. Private lessons may be purchased for one or two people. Couples who take lessons together get not only individual instruction on lead and follow, but also get expert guidance on partnering. You and your instructor will work together to create a customized lesson plan to help meet your personal dance goals. Lessons are always scheduled at a convenient time for you. The studio is open for private lessons seven days a week.

Learn how to dance with others and become part of our dance community. Our instructors are very friendly and love teaching both first timers and experienced dancers. This is a great way to start your dancing journey or take it to a new level. Attend in studio or virtual group classes. They are held simultaneously for your comfort and safety.

Our social dances begin with a dance lesson at no additional charge. Hybrid (in studio and virtual) social dances are held every Wednesday and Friday nights. Virtual attendees share the studio’s playlist to their home computer for great at home dancing! See the studio event calendar for more information and registration. Join us in the studio and dance on our amazing floating maple dance floor. We follow all CDC Guidelines for screening and safety.

Our new Ballroom4Kidz program is an organized curriculum that teaches children (ages 6-18) to dance in a functional way so they can enjoy it for the rest of their lives. This life-long use of ballroom dancing is what makes it different than other dance forms that many children are taught. PA DanceSport has a history of teaching children to dance using the same syllabi as adults. We offer a fully integrated approach to learning that is functional and progressive. Our Ballroom4Kidz students have the opportunity to dance in fun performance events, medal test for achievement through USISTD and dance at our social dances.
