About The Bhakti Yoga Center

The Bhakti Yoga Center, located in State College, Pennsylvania, is a sanctuary for mindful movement and holistic well-being, extending beyond traditional yoga to embrace a variety of enriching practices. While our name highlights yoga, the essence of synchronized breath and movement is central to our offerings. Experience the dynamic Vinyasa Flow, a modern interpretation of classical Indian yoga, or the grounding Hatha Yoga, emphasizing alignment and posture. We cater to diverse needs with specialized classes like Face Yoga, designed to release facial tension, and Prenatal Yoga, offering gentle support and preparation for childbirth. Beyond yoga, the center cultivates personal growth through workshops in Ayurveda, vegetarian cooking, and the transformative practice of group mantra meditation known as Kirtan. We also embrace cultural practices and offer opportunities to explore dance. Our commitment to deepening practice is reflected in our twice-annual Yoga Alliance Certified 200-hour Teacher Training Course. This immersive program delves into signature Bhakti Flow sequences, precise alignment, anatomy, yoga philosophy, and the ancient sacred music tradition of kirtan, fostering community and equipping individuals to guide yoga sessions. Inspired by the teachings of Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, The Bhakti Yoga Center provides a fun, welcoming environment for all seeking to integrate mindful movement and consciousness transformation into their daily lives.

Prenatal Yoga

Prenatal yoga is the ideal exercise for pregnant women. As long as your doctor has given you the green light to stay physically active during pregnancy, yoga is an ideal activity for all expectant moms: It’s gentle and designed for pregnancy, which means it helps prepare you for the mental aspects of childbirth (and beyond). The class consists of: A short period of relaxation. A brief warmup. A standing vinyasa flow. Gentle stretching Savasana Breath work (Pranayama). Benefits of prenatal yoga: Cut your risk of preterm labor and other complications. Lower your blood pressure Stabilize your moods Manage your weight Improve your delivery experience

Face Yoga

Face yoga involves massage and exercises that stimulate the muscles, skin, and lymphatic system. This technique is designed to soften and relax your face muscles to help alleviate tension, stress, and worry. This may also help you stop making the facial expressions associated with those feelings.

Hatha Yoga

Hatha yoga - a slower-paced practice with a focus on proper alignment and more guidance on how to do each pose correctly. The practice of Hatha yoga aims to join, yoke, or balance these two energies. A yoga class described as 'Hatha' will typically involve a set of physical postures (yoga poses) and breathing techniques. These are typically practiced more slowly and with more static posture holds than a Vinyasa flow or Ashtanga class.

Vinyasa Flow

Vinyasa Flow is a modern-day form of classical Indian yoga. The style is energetic, synchronizing breath with movements.
