About Sally Woody School of Dance

Welcome to Sally Woody School of Dance, a cornerstone of dance instruction in Conway, South Carolina, with over 35 years of dedicated service to the Horry County community. Founded on Sally Woody's vision of sharing the joy of dance, the studio is now proudly directed by Stephanie Woody Andreucci, a second-generation dancer with 55 years of personal experience. SWSD fosters a passion for the performing arts in a warm, familial atmosphere, welcoming every student into the SWSD Family. We offer a vibrant curriculum for dancers of all ages and abilities. Our youngest learners (2.5-5 years) explore movement through Tap, Creative Movement, and Tot Tumbling, building coordination and imagination. For ages 6-9, the Tap/Jazz Combination class focuses on essential tap technique and jazz fundamentals. Students aged 8-14 can further expand their skills in our Tap, Jazz, & Hip-Hop Combination class. Our commitment extends to nurturing foundational dance skills and fostering a lifelong love of movement and performance. The studio boasts a talented faculty dedicated to artistic expression and technical development. Instructors and Choreographers include Grace Andreucci Furlough, who also manages the Company Team, and Beth Hendrick. These roles highlight our focus on performance and providing opportunities for dedicated dancers to participate in group performances. Sally Woody School of Dance is dedicated to providing accessible and enriching dance education, continuing Mrs. Woody's original dream.

Classes

Adult Hip Hop

Adult Hip-Hop class incorporates street style dance with popular upbeat and hip-hop songs. This class includes both technique and short weekly dance combinations.

Adult Tap

Advanced Tap is for dancers with a large background in Tap ready to expand on their existing knowledge. This class is fast pace and includes both technique work at the bar and center floor exercises/combinations.

Acro Level 2

This is an intermediate/advanced acro class. Dancer’s will continue with strength and flexibility training to learn new and exciting tricks to incorporate into dance routines.

Acro Level 1

This is a beginner Acro Class. Dancer’s participating in this class will be working on various skills such as cartwheels, forward rolls, handstands, and flexibility.

Tap/ Jazz/ Hip-Hop Combination

Tap/Jazz Combination

This class includes both Tap and Jazz instruction. This class is a transition class out of the Tiny Tot Program. Students will concentrate on tap technique at the bar and center floor exercises. They will also begin to expand on flexibility and jazz technique through across the floor combinations and stretching.

Tiny Tot Program

This class is designed to introduce young dancers to a structured classroom environment while also allowing them to explore their imagination, natural body movement and develop coordination. Dancers will tap, shuffle, gallop, skip, march, and boogie to fun and exciting music. They will go on all kinds of adventures, laugh with their classmates, and be introduced to the thrilling and fun world of dance class.
