International Ballet Academy

This supplemental class requires a class leotard, pink tights, and hair prepared for class. Tight fitting warmups are allowed at the teacher's discretion.

It specifies a burgundy leotard (preferred Nikolay Black "Charlotte" leotard with straps), pink tights, pink ballet shoes, pointe shoes, and a skirt at the teacher's discretion. Students are allowed to wear any solid color leotard on Saturdays.

IB partners with the Meyer Center for Special Children to bring free ballet training to children with intellectual and physical disabilities. Traveling to the Meyer Center twice weekly, IB faculty works with the children, incorporating basic ballet techniques to promote flexibility, fitness, musicality and more.

International Ballet offers a free weekly ballet class for adults with intellectual disabilities. Taught by IB Founder Lena Forster, the class incorporates elements of ballet conditioning to bring movement, fitness, musicality, pleasure, and creativity to the students and volunteers.

International Ballet offers free ballet classes for adults and children with intellectual and physical disabilities. Our children's accessibility program occurs at the Meyer Center for Special Children. IB faculty travels twice weekly to the Meyer Center to teach. All Accessibility classes incorporate elements of ballet conditioning to bring movement, fitness, musicality, pleasure, and creativity to the students.

International Ballet offers free ballet classes for adults and children with intellectual and physical disabilities. Our Adult Accessibility Class meets weekly from September-May at IB, and is taught by our Founder, Lena Forster, with the help of dedicated volunteers. Students perform in a year-end demonstration.

In partnership with the Greenville County Library, International Ballet’s free quarterly programs introduce children to the world of ballet through dance-themed books. The performance/readings allow young children the opportunity to see the costumes and performers up-close and meet the dancers after the show.

Students must apply and must demonstrate achievement in ballet, academics, and character to qualify. Students are able to develop leadership skills through planning and participating in events and projects.

College and company audition preparation for dance and dance-related programs for students who are interested in developing individual career plans in the broad and expansive dance world. Includes preparatory services, private rehearsals/ coaching, and small group planning sessions. Open Sundays included.

Intermediate Adult Ballet Classes offered at the Batesville Location and River Rd Location. Various class times available throughout the week. Adult class spots must be reserved in advance.

IB will sponsor a minimum of three “Open Sundays” each semester to provide students with self-guided and shared open studio time outside of class to prepare for auditions. Must pre-register at least one week in advance of each date.

This group is for students in Ballet 1-3, meeting on Wednesdays from 4:30-6pm. It gives students a chance to develop performance skills and confidence while preparing for future opportunities with IB such as auditioning for the Trainee Program and Youth Company.

Strength and Conditioning 6-week Sessions taught by Linda Thompson. Focuses on building strength and endurance. FALL SESSION ran from October 15 - November 19. Cost is $90 per session.

Beginner Adult Ballet 6-week Sessions taught by Linda Thompson. This program is designed for beginners looking to learn the fundamentals of ballet. Cost is $130 per session.

IB partners with Pleasant Valley Connection, Phillis Wheatley Community Center, and Freedom Within Walls at LEAD Academy to bring free ballet training and performance opportunities to children who may not otherwise have the opportunity or exposure. The program consists of summer camps as well as after-school programs that are incorporated into the existing curriculum at each location.
