The North Augusta School of Dance

For children ages 2 - 4 with a parent/grandparent/guardian. No special clothing requirements . Each week parents & young ones learn how to sing together in a super fun and energetic setting. Classes are 30 minutes once a week.

Voice classes are in a group setting and is an hour long each week. It is for ages 5 and up. There is not a set attire however no skirts and tennis shoes please as we do sit on the floor and move around the room. Needed Items: Half inch black binder, highlighter, pencil, pen, clear page protectors & water bottle. Students must come each week with hair up out of the face. For music lessons, these are done in a private or family setting and are upon request.

This class is a very expressive and controlled class where dancers learn movements expressing emotions in an imaginative and beautiful way. Sometimes they can be sharp and precise movements, sometimes soft and delicate. Choreography usually tells a story or you become a character portraying an emotion. Strength, flexibility and personality are taught and used to make a connection with the music as you move through this class. Girls Attire: Leotards & spandex shorts or leggings only. Please wear hair up out of face and No shoes required. Boys Attire: T-Shirt, tank top, jazz pants leggings only. No shoes required

Cheer Pom is a first of its kind, high energy, cardio packed, fully choreographed cheer class with pom poms! Expect to high kick, hair flips and toe touch your way through this fun class. Girls Attire: Leotards & spandex shorts or leggings only. Please wear hair up out of face. Boys Attire: T-Shirt, tank top, jazz pants leggings only. ​ Tennis Shoes or Tan Jazz shoes are required, we supply pom poms for class and performances. Tan Jazz Shoes or Tennis Shoes will be used for performances.

Musical theatre class is a form of theatrical performance that combines songs, spoken dialogue, acting and dance. The story and emotional content of a musical – humor, pathos, love, anger – are communicated through the words, music, movement and technical aspects. This class each week learns how to work together to perform self confidence skills with dancing, singing and acting. Girls Attire: Leotard & spandex shorts or leggings. Hair up out of face & no loose jewelry or clothing coverups. Level 1, 2, 3 & 4 Tan elastic "V" style jazz shoes are needed for class each week. Level 4 - Tan Character Split Flex Sole Shoes are needed for class each week - These are by Teacher approval/promotion only. Boys Attire: White T-Shirt and black pants or leggings. No loose jewelry, clothing coverups or shorts. Black elastic "V" style jazz shoes are needed for class each week.

Acro or Acrobatic dance is a class requiring flexibility, strength, good balance, agility, and coordination. In class proper stretching and conditioning makes up a good part of class and enforcing correct technique is a must so that tricks such as cartwheels, bridges, handstands, chin-stands and so forth can be performed safely. Students must be at lease the age of 6 in order to take this class and not have a fear of going upside down. Mats are use for basic training and safety. This is not a gymnastic tumbling class, we offer private lessons upon request for tumblers. Girls Attire: Leotard & spandex shorts or leggings or unitards ONLY. *Loose clothing of any kind is dangerous. Hair up out of face tightly secured in a bun. No shoes or socks, class is taken barefoot. Boys Attire: White fitted T-Shirt and black pants or leggings. No shoes or socks, class is taken barefoot.

Hip-hop dance refers to street dance styles primarily performed with hard hitting and locking movements. It is usually danced to popular music and can include flips and breaking movements. Girls & Boys Attire: Athletic clothing, easy to move in, shorts, leggings or oversized baggy clothing is preferred. Please wear hair up out of face. Tennis shoes are required for class. White tennis shoes in any brand or style for performances.

Jazz is a dance form where movements are matched to the rhythms and techniques of fast & up beat movements consisting of leaps, kicks and turns. Jazz has a wide variety of styles that reflect the style of music chosen. Girls Attire: Leotard & spandex shorts or leggings. Hair up out of face & no loose jewelry or clothing coverups. No shoes needed. Boys Attire: White T-Shirt and black pants or leggings. No loose jewelry, clothing coverups or shorts. No shoes needed.

Tap is a dance performed wearing shoes fitted with metal taps, characterized by rhythmical tapping of the toes and heels. ​ Girls Attire: Leotard & leggings . Color & style are optional. Boys Attire: T-Shirt & leggings/pants/shorts. Black, lace-up oxford style Tap shoes for level 1 - 3 ​ BLACK professional, solid bottom tap shoes, lace up oxford style for level 4. Examples of this would be Chloe & Maud, Bloch Ladies Respect, Capezio Roxy or Jason Samuel Smith Taps shoes are all examples of level 4 tap shoes.

Modern is a class of strong and sharp movements to soft and free flowing movements where students learn the opportunity to improve skills and gain strength, and it is designed to give them a deeper understanding of modern as an art form. Each level has a curriculum include training in technique, terminology, history, strength, control, conditioning, stage performance & discipline. Girls & Boys Attire: Black leotard, black leggings or capris only. This is a class where no shoes are needed and dancers are barefoot. ​ ****THURSDAY TECH & TONE class, Students must maintain this same attire as is modern. No shoes needed. PARENTS, please dress in athletic wear. Bring water bottles into class with you please.

Ballet classes provide students the opportunity to improve skills and gain strength, and it is designed to give them a deeper understanding of ballet as an art form. Each level has a curriculum of ballet steps and all grades include training in technique, terminology, history, strength, control, conditioning, stage performance & discipline. Teachers place ballet students in the correct level based on age and ability. Girls Attire: Leotard, pink ballet tights and pink canvas split-sole ballet shoes are required for class each week. Skin colored tights and shoes are now being manufactured. It's each dancers personal choice, level 3 or 4 students only, if they wish to make this additional purchase. Ballet pink is traditional for every skin color and age, however if a level 3 or 4 student chooses to purchase these additions they do have to understand a long seamless leg line must be maintained. Shoes and tights of the same colors are to be only worn together. Hair is to be worn in a bun secured completely out of the face. No loose jewelry or clothing coverups including dance shorts or leggings. Color of leotard, skirts & legwarmers are all optional. Boys Attire: White t-shirt, black pants or leggings. Black ballet split-sole canvas shoes. Pointe: Ages 11 or older only. Point shoes are required for pointe classes upon teacher approval. Please speak with your teacher first for recommendations prior to purchasing pointe shoes.

Jr Combo is a combination class for children ages 4 years olds. This is a hour & half long class.These classes focus on Ballet, Tap & Jazz with an intro to mat where we prep them for exercises like forward rolls and cartwheels. These classes introduce rhythm, coordination, strength, balance & social skills through the art of ballet, tap & Jazz. Girls Attire: Leotard, pink ballet shoes, black tap shoes and tan jazz shoes. Color of leotard, skirts & tights are optional. Hair must be up and out of face. We recommend tap shoes with a velcro or snap closure in black patent, and *NEW 2024 - 2025 no shoes for jazz Boys Attire: White t-shirt or tank top & black leggings or dance pants. Black ballet shoes, black oxford tap shoes and N o shoes for jazz.

Tiny Taps & Tutus is a combination class for children ages 3 & 4 years old. These are hour long classes where they focus on ballet the first half and tap the second half. These classes introduce rhythm, coordination, strength, balance & social skills through the art of ballet & tap in a super fun & energetic setting. Level I is designed for age 3 & beginners new to dance or class settings. Level II is recommended for age 4 & dancers with past experience. Girls Attire: Leotard, pink ballet shoes & black tap shoes. Color of leotard, skirts & tights are optional. Hair must be up and out of face. We recommend tap shoes with a velcro or snap closure in black patent. Boys Attire: White t-shirt or tank top & black leggings or dance pants. Black ballet shoes & black oxford tap shoes.

Bitty Ballerinas is a 30 minute class. It focuses on coordination, use of muscles & social skills through the use of ballet in a super fun energetic setting. Girls Attire: Leotard & pink ballet shoes. Skirts, tights and color of leotard are all optional. Hair up and secured out of face if possible. Boys Attire: Any color t-shirt, tank top, leggings or dance pants. Black ballet shoes.

For children ages - Birth to 2 & 1/2 with a parent/grandparent/guardian. No special clothing requirements but athletic or gym clothes strongly preferred for parents and dance clothes when children are old enough to fit them. Each week parents & young ones learn how to stretch together and use ballet & creative movements together in a super fun and energetic setting. Classes are 30 minutes once a week. Parents & dancers can take class barefoot or young dancers can wear pink ballet shoes if size is available.
