About Britza Performing Arts Studio
Britza Performing Arts Studio, located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, is dedicated to fostering a love of dance and the performing arts for students of all ages and abilities. Led by Director and owner Miss Amanda Hahn, the studio offers a comprehensive dance education with a diverse range of genuine dance styles including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Acrobatics, Contemporary, and Musical Theater, alongside vocal and theatre instruction. Britza emphasizes individuality, encouragement, and excellence in a joyful and supportive environment. Younger dancers are introduced to the expressive world of movement through the "Discover Dance" program, featuring age-specific classes like "Discover With Me," "Discover Dance," "Discover Hip Hop," and "Discover Tots," starting from toddlers. DiscoverDance Early Childhood Program
The DiscoverDance Early Childhood Program is a series of movement classes designed to introduce children to the creative and expressive world of dance. This program offers children the opportunity to develop their natural movement ability in a multi-sensory environment.
Acro
Acro class attire includes tights, leotards, and leggings. This class combines elements of gymnastics and dance.
Discover Creative Arts
Discover Creative Arts requires a leotard or movable t-shirt, and either a skirt, athletic pants, or shorts. Any color tights may be worn and must be worn with shorts or skirt. Shoes can be pink ballet shoes, tan or black jazz shoes, or barefoot.
Pre-Pointe
Pre-Pointe class requires a black leotard, ballet pink tights, and pink ballet slippers. This class is designed to prepare students for pointe work.
Theatre & Vocal Classes
Theatre & Vocal Classes require any comfortable, movable clothing. This ensures freedom of movement and expression during performance and rehearsal.
Tap
Tap class requires a leotard of any color or athletic shirts/tank tops, athletic pants or shorts, and any color tights (must be worn with shorts). Shoes needed are black patent leather tap shoes for Babes-2nd grade, and black leather tap shoes for 3rd-12th grade.
Musical Theatre
Musical Theatre class requires a leotard of any color, athletic pants or shorts, and any color tights (must be worn with shorts). Shoes needed are tan jazz shoes for all grades, and tan 1” character shoes for 7th-12th grade. Boys require black jazz shoes for all grades.
Male Students
Male Students class attire includes any color T-shirt, athletic pants or shorts, and appropriate shoes as noted with the specific class. This ensures comfort and functionality for all dance styles.
Lyrical
Lyrical class requires a leotard of any color, athletic pants or shorts, and knee-pads. Any color tights must be worn with shorts. Students may bring layers for warmup and floorwork. Turning shoes are required.
Jazz
Jazz class requires a leotard of any color, athletic pants or shorts, and any color tights (must be worn with shorts). Shoes needed are black jazz shoes for 1st-6th grade and tan jazz shoes for 7th-12th grade.
Hip Hop
Hip Hop class requires a leotard of any color, a plain-colored T-shirt or tank top, and athletic pants or shorts, including knee-pads. Ultra Vibe Dance Sneakers are required and must be purchased through BritZa.
Discover Hip Hop
Discover Hip Hop requires a leotard of any color, a plain-colored T-shirt or tank top, and athletic pants or shorts. Any clean sneakers are required for this energetic class.
Discover Dance 1 / 2
Discover Dance 1 / 2 requires a leotard of any color, a skirt of any color (may be attached to the leotard). Students participate barefoot. This class focuses on foundational dance steps for young learners.
Discover with Me / Discover Tots
Discover with Me / Discover Tots classes require anything movable for clothing and are performed barefoot. This is an introductory dance class for very young children.
Contemporary
Contemporary class requires a black leotard and black tights. Students may bring layers for warmup and floorwork. Any dance sock is acceptable. Shoes are not worn in this class. The color of socks needed for performance will coordinate with their costume and be communicated later.
Ballet
Ballet class requires a black leotard, ballet pink tights. Students in K-4th grade and High Schoolers may wear any ballet skirt. Shoes needed are pink ballet slippers for girls and black ballet shoes for boys.
Kindergarten Ballet / Jazz
Kindergarten Ballet / Jazz requires a leotard of any color, a skirt or shorts of any color (may be attached to the leotard), and any color tights. Shoes needed are pink ballet slippers and black jazz shoes.
Tippy Toes Ballet
Tippy Toes Ballet requires a leotard of any color, a skirt of any color (may be attached to the leotard), and socks or any color tights. Shoes needed are pink ballet slippers for girls and black ballet shoes for boys.

Mini Movers (4 – 5 years old)
These classes run as ballet and tap combo classes. Basic technique will be taught along with rhythm, coordination, and balance. They will perform both a ballet and tap dance in the spring recital to show off their cool new skills!

Adult Beginner Tap
All levels welcome! Please wear Ballet shoes (Adult Ballet) or Tap Shoes (Adult Tap). Wear any comfortable clothing you can move in! Upon registration, the first month’s tuition will automatically be charged. This amount is non-refundable. Tuition is then charged monthly for the remainder of the semester.
3rd-4th Grade: Character Quest
Get creative with your storytelling! This acting class will explore becoming a character through games, theatre techniques and script work. This class will be full of games and imagination but will also incorporate reading scripts and learning how to use them. We will end with a short performance for families in December.
Discover Music (Kindergarten - 2nd Grade)
Discover the magic of music in this introductory class geared toward our youngest music-lovers! If your K-2nd Grade student is always singing, drumming on tables, or grooving to the beat, this class is for you! We will explore the basics of a variety of musical concepts - notes, rhythms, instruments, singing, storytelling, expression, and more - in a fun and exciting way that sets the stage for further musical exploration and study as your student grows. Most of all, your student will practice cherishing and employing the gift of creativity living inside of them! (If your student is already taking piano lessons, etc., this class may not be for them. Please reach out to our Vocal & Theatre staff members if you’d like to discuss whether this class is the right fit for your student.)
Musical Theatre Vocal Performance Group (2nd - 5th Grade)
Nurture your student’s passion for performing in our Ensemble Vocal Performance Class for elementary students. Students will hone the important skill of participating in a musical ensemble - a group of collaborators - learning to encourage, show compassion toward, and collaborate with their fellow singers. Students will also learn age appropriate vocal technique and music theory, growing their appreciation of musical performance. Last, but certainly not least, our class will feature multiple performance opportunities - challenging students to step out with confidence as an ensemble and developing their performance skills. Above all, students will learn to cherish and utilize the gift of creativity inside of them; and to recognize, celebrate, and engage the creativity of their peers. For this group, it is important that your child can read somewhat confidently as this class will work with sheet music and not being able to follow along could feel very frustrating to the performer.
3rd - 4th Grade Vocals
Our singing classes are designed for students to learn age-appropriate music theory and vocal techniques in a group setting. Not only will singers learn to read music, but they will also work on a performance piece to share with their families at the end of our time together!
1st-2nd Grade: Wild Imagination
This class will explore the world of imagination by bringing beloved storybook characters to life. Each week, students will explore different stories while learning theatre fundamentals and playing theatre games. This class will end with a 15 minute showcase for families on the last day of class. This is a great introductory class for exploring performance and storytelling, offering a fun opportunity to be silly each week!
1st-2nd Grade Acting: Animal Adventure
In this playful acting class, young performers will explore the magic of theatre through the theme of animals. Each week students will bring creatures big and small to life through movement, voice and character games. They’ll also get creative with craft projects designing their own puppets, masks and props used to help tell stories. No experience necessary, just bring your imagination and get ready to roar, hop and flutter into a fun semester of acting!

Acro is all about combining the strength and flexibility of gymnastics with the performance and artistry of dance. In class, we’ll focus first on building strength, flexibility, and control — because strong, safe foundations always come before the exciting tricks! Once you’ve built that solid base, you’ll start learning skills like balances, rolls, partner work, and eventually progress to more advanced tumbling and acrobatic elements.

Join us this Fall for Broadway's Rags-to-Riches stories! We'll dive into scenes, songs and choreography from some of our favorite broadway shows about orphans, lucky breaks and hard work! This class will produce a final showcase for friends and family featuring songs from musicals like: Matilda, Annie, Hamilton & more!

Discover Hip Hop
Inside each Discover Hip Hop class, we integrate movement skills, while also fostering the development of the personal movement style for each growing young artist. With this, we grow our creativity and set the foundation of hip hop in a supportive and fun learning environment.
Musical Theatre (1st/2nd grade)
Musical theatre is a dance form that combines many styles of dance and allows dancers to explore expression and storytelling, not only through movement but also through facial expression. Classes marked with a ◆ will participate in our Christmas Show.
Hip Hop (5th/6th grade)
Hip Hop is a dance style, usually danced to hip-hop music, that evolved from the hip-hop culture. BritZa always uses clean music and will teach only age-appropriate movement! Classes marked with a ◆ will participate in our Christmas Show.
Tap (3rd/4th grade)

Lyrical (5th – 8th grade)
Lyrical dance challenges dancers to use motion to interpret music and express emotion. A lyrical dancer’s movements attempt to show the meaning of the music. Classes marked with a ◆ will participate in our Christmas Show.
Adult Tap (Intermediate/Advanced)
All levels welcome! Please wear Ballet shoes (Adult Ballet) or Tap Shoes (Adult Tap). Wear any comfortable clothing you can move in! Upon registration, the first month’s tuition will automatically be charged. This amount is non-refundable. Tuition is then charged monthly for the remainder of the semester.

3rd-4th Grade: Big Blue World
Join some familiar under the sea friends as we work on characters, songs, dances and scenes from Disney’s Finding Nemo. This 15 week class will end in a small showcase for families on Thursday April 16.
4th Grade and Up: Theatre Production: "Olympus The Greek Rock Musical”
OLYMPUS is a laugh-out-loud rock musical where ancient myths meet modern mischief! The Greek gods, tired of their immortal routines, spark a competition to meddle with mortals and prove who’s the greatest greek god of all time. When a group of modern-day cousins set off on a hike to “Olympus Overlook,” they have no idea they’re about to be tested by ancient deities. With catchy songs, heartfelt moments, and plenty of laughs, Olympus is a mythic adventure about family, connection, and discovering that the real view from the top is the one you share together. This is a fun ensemble piece with different roles for many. This 16 week class will work together as an ensemble to put together a 60 minute children's musical. This production workshop class will culminate in a thrilling show weekend open to the public, family and friends! All cast members are required to be at the final week and weekend of performances. Performance Weekend: Dress Rehearsals: Tuesday & Thursday April 21st & 23rd Performances: Friday, April 24th 7:00pm // 2 Performances Saturday, April 25th.
