Bellevue School of Performing Arts

Highly qualified Christian teachers give each student a weekly lesson that is 30, 45, or 60 minutes long. Students learn to play the piano while also learning to read music, understand music theory, and play with proper technique. Private lessons are held one day a week for the designated lesson length. Private lesson students will perform in two recitals each year—one in the fall and one in the spring.

Students will learn the basics of percussion performance, such as positioning the instrument and developing coordination with hands and feet. Students will also learn how to read music in standard notation, rhythm charts, and lead sheets.

Students who are new to Bellevue Ballet should read the descriptions below and register for the appropriate class. Class sizes are limited. Preference will be given to returning students, and remaining class spots will be given on a first-come, first-served basis. Ages 4–6: Please select a Pre-Ballet class of your choice on the registration page. Students must be age 4 by August 15, 2024, to enroll in classes.

Students With Two to Three Years of Experience. Class sizes are limited. Preference will be given to returning students, and remaining class spots will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.

Students With Three or More Years of Experience. Ages 9+. Class sizes are limited. Preference will be given to returning students, and remaining class spots will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.

Students With Three or More Years of Experience. Ages 10+. Class sizes are limited. Preference will be given to returning students, and remaining class spots will be given on a first-come, first-served basis. Ballet 3 and 4 Monday classes meet for all 15 weeks in the fall and all 15 weeks in the spring (a total of 30 classes). Ballet 3 and 4 Thursday classes are an extension of Monday’s class; they start in the sixth week of each semester and continue for the remaining 10 weeks of fall or spring (a total of 20 classes).

Ages 7+: Please select a Ballet 1 class of your choice on the registration page. New Students or Returning Students with Minimal Experience. Class sizes are limited. Preference will be given to returning students, and remaining class spots will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.

Students who are enrolled in private lessons through SPA are encouraged to join a free guitar class held each Thursday from 6:00–7:00 pm. Private lessons are held one day a week for the designated lesson length.

Piano class is for beginners ages 7 and up (including adults) seeking a basic introduction to piano. New pianists will learn note names, basic sight reading, rhythms, and a few simple songs. Students age 6 must be accompanied by an adult in the class. Class size is limited, and students will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. All students will receive a class piano book and a T-shirt.
