Classes

Performance Package

Live performance by experienced dancers on day of, at venue. Then, surprise your guests with their own dance lesson taught by these very performers. Include savvy entertainment immediately following the first dances, or during dinner service. Let us know what you'd like to see; though we do love blending freestyle with different genres, including latin, tango, and ballet. It is certain to be one of the most unique highlights of the night!

Bride & Groom Package
$55.00

Take the classes you didn't know you needed, and illuminate the dance floor. If you are not a dancer, but wanting to resemble one on such a momentous day, we will have you and your significant other looking polished & precise. Lessons will be led by trained dancers, who will set an impressive dance that will mesmerize your guests (and you!). We specialize in latin, but can definitely discuss other styles you may have in mind. The final product will always be a reflection of who you are as a couple.

CONTEMPORARY

Contemporary class will introduce students to grounded movement and will incorporate improvisation. They will learn fall and recovery concepts, how to play with gravity in order to move efficiently through space, and discover pathways in their bodies to enter and leave floorwork with ease. Through these movement philosophies, students will be able to approach any dance style and movement practice in a dynamic, mindful, and expressive way. This class will challenge students and enhance their ballet technique by helping them develop into well-rounded dancers.

POINTE

Pointe shoes---the magical moment when students experience another part of the dance world, an extension of their ballet training, adding to the aesthetic of their dancing. Learn how to shop for, sew, care, and break-in shoes. Not only do the feet and ankles need to be strong enough, but alignment, turnout, back and abdominal muscles must also be in order to stand on pointe correctly without the risk of injury. Students will be individually evaluated with qualification upon approval of school director only.

LITTLE FEET

The joy of dance begins with a child's first steps in a fun and nurturing environment. Ballet is introduced to our youngest of dancers by using props, video clips, books, and music, in which the students explore movement and storytelling. Students learn to connect imagery with movement and begin to develop coordination and listening skills that'll stress the joys of movement, music, and imagination!

BALLET

Here at DANZA, classical ballet--the foundation of all dances, is our focal point. Prepare to be impressed as your child flourishes into a true dancer before your very eyes. Through formal training, students will learn classical ballet vocabulary, classroom structure, etiquette, combine correct technique with artistry, proper and safe progressions of movement while concurrently attaining self-confidence, discipline, and the connection between outer & inner strength.

Classical ballet

Classical ballet is the heart of the school, but I am always planning unique ways to expose students to different art forms, bring in guest artists, and provide students with performance opportunities.

BEGINNER BALLET

Whether you are missing your childhood bunhead days, or ballet has been lingering on your bucket list for too long, this introductory class welcomes you with open arms and pointed feet! This class is perfect for those who have taken a couple of our Absolute Beginner Workshops or are out of practice and wanting to return to ballet. It is designed for adult dancers who are wanting to refine their skills and advance their training to the next level. Explore basic steps, positions, and concepts that form the foundation of more advanced technique, as well as building on your fundamental vocabulary. The main focus will be on learning basic ballet technique. Emphasis will be placed on proper classical alignment of the body. All concepts are taught through a process of explanation, demonstration, and repetition. No experience needed; all are welcome! Most students in this class have some experience but are still beginners wanting a challenge. Intermediate dancers are welcome to wear their pointe shoes!

Saturdays 12:15 PM - 1:45 PM
INTERMEDIATE BALLET

Seeking to advance your technique? Further your development of body and spatial awareness? Escape the stress of the work day and engage, enrich, and educate yourself on a challenging discipline that will leave you feeling free and looking forward to every class. In an amiable and attentive setting, adults of any age partake in a course that moves beyond the fundamentals by exploring increasingly more complex movement and a continued development of vocabulary. Build upon your foundation by incorporating a higher degree of detail into your technique. Students will learn technique, gain strength and a great awareness of posture. Exercise your body and mind as one!
