About Frame Dance

Frame Dance Baby & Me Classes

Baby & Me classes at Frame Dance offer a nurturing space for you and your baby (ages 0-8 months) to explore movement, music, and connection. Designed to support your baby’s early development while fostering your relationship as caregiver and baby, these classes are a joyful way to spend quality time together and meet other families.

Toddler & Me (ages 0-2)

Implement a full year of engaging, age-appropriate content with our 7-unit curriculum, available for Toddler & Me (ages 0-2). Rooted in child psychology and over 35 years of hand-son experience in the classroom, our curriculum equally values discipline, technique, and the socio-emotional development of each student.

Kinder (ages 4-6)

Implement a full year of engaging, age-appropriate content with our 7-unit curriculum, available for Kinder (ages 4-6). YOUTH ENSEMBLE

The youth ensemble is for students who want to dive deeper into the dance making process, honing their ensemble work and choreographic tools. The Youth Ensemble performs with the Professional Artists and the Community Ensemble in April, in a premiere work directed by Frame Dance artistic director Lydia Hance.

FAMILY CREATIVE MOVEMENT

Family Creative Movement classes teach creativity, musicality, and coordination through carefully chosen music and props. They are an opportunity for families to engage with each other – mind, body, and heart – through movement! This class is for children 0-5 years old and their caretaker. Wear comfortable clothing, we dance barefoot.

TODDLER CREATIVE MOVEMENT

Toddler Creative Movement is designed to be fun and impactful, teaching young children to notice and control how their bodies move through space. Little dancers build brains and bodies as they practice initiating their own ideas and actions in movement. This class is taken with an adult, and students dance barefoot in comfortable clothing.

TEEN MODERN

Teen Modern is a fun, welcoming, student-centered technique class for ages 12 – 16 wishing to deepen understanding of modern dance. Content is derived from Limón, Bartenieff, Cunningham, and release techniques with opportunities to improvise and enjoy student generated choreography.

MODERN II

In Modern 2, dancers concentrate on strengthening technique fundamentals in both modern dance and choreography. This is a year-round syllabus and dancers are encouraged to take two classes per week to maximize growth during this pivotal age for development. Modern 2 is for third through fifth graders

MODERN I

In Modern 1 , Dancers progress through our healthy, informed syllabus that builds skill and artistry over time. Dancers learn the foundation of modern dance techniques including moving into and out of the floor, jumping, turning, and moving dynamically with music. These classes meet once per week and we encourage our dancers to pair modern class with ballet weekly. Modern 1 is for first and second graders

KINDER MODERN

In Kinder Modern , dancers roll, jump, swing and fall to the floor! Students are introduced to modern dance techniques while collaborating with the instructor and classmates to innovate ways of moving their body through space. Dancers progress through a healthy, informed syllabus that builds skill and artistry over time. These classes meet once per week and we encourage our dancers to pair modern class with ballet weekly. Kinder Modern is for PreK4 and Kindergarteners

BALLET II

In Ballet 2 , dancers concentrate on strengthening technique fundamentals in both ballet and choreography. This is a year-round syllabus and dancers are encouraged to take two classes per week to maximize growth during this pivotal age for development. Ballet 2 is for third through fifth graders

In this class, young dancers make mind, body, and heart connections that channel energy, promote creative expression, and build healthy physical habits through ballet technique, movement creation, and performance preparation. Dancers progress through a healthy, informed syllabus that builds skill and artistry over time. These classes meet once per week and we encourage our dancers to pair ballet class with modern dance weekly. Ballet 1 is for first and second grades.

KINDER BALLET

Kinder Ballet at Frame Dance is about the child’s sense of personal development and mastery of movement. Dancers learn the tradition of ballet terminology and class structure as they practice positions, combinations, and musicality while building strength, balance, and the joy of moving independently and as a group. Kinder Ballet is for Pre-K4 and Kindergarten

PRIMARY MODERN

Primary Modern is an exciting introduction to dance for young children at Frame Dance. In this class, students explore the fundamentals of modern dance through creative movement exercises and playful interaction. They are encouraged to express themselves artistically, develop a sense of rhythm and spatial awareness, and collaborate with their peers in a supportive setting. This class emphasizes the importance of personal expression, creativity, and the joy of dancing, providing a solid foundation for future dance education.

PRIMARY BALLET

Primary Ballet is a dancer’s first class without a parent at Frame Dance. Students learn to communicate with respect, to develop artistically as individuals and as an ensemble – finding, articulating, and combining ideas and actions. Primary Dance is for dancers 2 – 4 years old.

Young Dancer Program

The Young Dancer Program prepares young minds and bodies for a bright future, on and off the dance floor. Our small-sized classes follow an intentional, age-appropriate curriculum that equally values discipline, technique, and the socio-emotional development of each student. Rooted in child psychology and over 35 years of experience in dance education, our heart-forward approach instills confidence, builds resilience, and encourages curiosity, collaboration, and creative thinking.
