Beginning Jazz

Official class uniforms required. Turquoise leotard and black leggings or jazz pants, black jazz shoes. Please consult with teacher before you purchase shoes. Male dancers should wear a black t-shirt and black pants.

Performance Companies

Official class uniforms required. RSA Leotard ($38) and black RSA shorts ($20) or solid Jazz Pants ($25). Please consult with teacher before you purchase shoes. Male dancers should wear a black t-shirt and black pants.

Tumbling

Official class uniforms required. Any color leotard and shorts. Leotards can be purchased directly from the studio for $20 or purchased at the store. Shorts are optional. Male dancers should wear a black t-shirt and black pants.

National Dance Honors Society

The Stars Honors Society program highlights students for their artistic merit, academic achievement, and leadership throughout their educational experience from 6th - 12th grade. Students who graduate from this program receive an Honors cord, pin and scholarships. Honors Society Members will also attend an awards night ceremony accompanied by family and friends.

Team SHINE

These are the elite-level dancers of the competition teams. Team SHINE students are very diverse and excel in ballet, contemporary, hip hop and jazz. They also have advanced acrobatics and tumbling skills.

Team BELIEVE

These junior-level dancers compete and perform at various community events and competitions throughout the year.

Team RISE

For students just starting their journey of competition dancing, Team RISE develops confidence and provides opportunities to enhance their skills as dancers and performers.

Team DREAM

For upper level dancers, typically ranging in age from 6-8, who have more technical capabilities and experience.

Team PRE DREAM

The beginning level for the competition teams comprised of passionate and energetic dancers ages 3-5.

Tap

In Tap, dancers develop rhythm, style and sound. Students will learn a variety of tap styles from Broadway to Rhythm tap. Exercises focus on building flexibility of the knee and ankles, coordination, syncopation, and speed of movement.

Tumbling I

In Tumbling I, skills are leveled-up to more advanced floor exercises and tumbling, while ensuring proper form, core strength and technique. Emphasis is placed upon improving previously-learned stunts, adding more advanced acrobatics, and increasing strength, power and momentum.

Mini Tumbling

Students learn beginner floor exercises and tumbling skills using a mat. Emphasis is placed on developing form and technique as they learn beginner and intermediate tumbling stunts. Attention is paid to body awareness and understanding how the body performs through tumbling skills.

Creative Movement

A fun way for young children to explore dance and movement, develop physical skills, bolster creativity and learn to connect with others. Students will improve their coordination and self-expression through age-appropriate dance movements.

Ballet II/Pointe

In Ballet II/Pointe, students will expand upon their ballet fundamentals with more terminology, and advanced positions and barre techniques. Students will have a skills test at the end of the year for advancement to Pointe.

Ballet I

Ballet is the foundation of all dance. In our Ballet I class, students will be introduced to basic ballet fundamentals including proper body alignment, core strength, ballet terminology, basic positions and barre techniques.

Recreational Company

Join our Recreational Stars as they take structured classes that focus on teaching correct technique while having fun along the way. Students receive local performance opportunities throughout the year to help build confidence and showcase their talents.

Courses

HBCU Movement Series

Through this initiative we provide workshops that are open to the public and centered around those aspiring to dance on the collegiate level at a historically black college or university. Students in our HBCU Movement Series will attend information sessions on Financial Aid, learn about various scholarship opportunities, take a series of dance classes from former and current HBCU dancers, attend mentorship sessions on how to audition, learn proper dance etiquette, and discuss how to adapt to college life as a first-year student.
