East Texas Dance Company, nestled in Longview, Texas, boasts a rich legacy of dance excellence dating back to its founding in 1957. Serving students aged 16 months to 18 years, the studio cultivates confident and well-rounded dancers through a comprehensive dance education. Under the guidance of Director and Studio Owner Alexis Marjason, and a passionate team of instructors including Tina Grider Lyon, Caitlin “KK” Bailey, Carli Howard, Drew Bates, Natalie Fowler, Rachel Clower Hurt, Rachael Kidder, Nicki Patterson, Hailey Pitman, and Claire Sherwood, students explore a diverse range of genres. These include Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Acrobatics, Acrobatic Arts, and Musical Theater, alongside dedicated preparation for drill teams and competitive programs. East Texas Dance Company offers both Recreational and Competitive programs. Recreational classes foster technique, creativity, and self-expression, while competitive teams, such as the TNT Dancers, provide rigorous training for regional and national competitions, instilling discipline and teamwork. Former students have achieved success in collegiate dance programs like the Kilgore College Rangerettes and Stephen F. Austin Dance Team, highlighting the studio's commitment to inspiring the next generation. The studio offers a year-round experience with Fall and Spring Semesters, and exciting opportunities for Summer sessions. For the 2025-2026 dance year, registration opens soon, with the season commencing September 2, 2025. The year culminates in a major recital performance on May 1-2, 2026, at Letourneau University’s Belcher Center. Auditions for the 2026 competition season, including the TNT Dancers, are scheduled for May 2026. The studio also provides a unique 4,000 sq. ft. facility for themed dance parties and unforgettable birthday celebrations.
