Hathaway Academy of Ballet, located in Plano, Texas, has been nurturing dancers and fostering a love for the art form since its establishment in June 2001. Founded by directors Kirt and Linda Hathaway, who bring over three decades of professional dance and teaching experience, including affiliations with the original Dallas Ballet, the academy is the official school of the Collin County Ballet Theatre. Serving the Collin County and North Dallas communities, Hathaway Academy is a premier ballet institution dedicated to comprehensive dance education focused on technique and performance artistry. Students immerse themselves in classical dance forms, exploring Ballet, Jazz, and Contemporary techniques. The academy offers a range of divisions catering to all ages and skill levels: Children (ages 3-6), Students (ages 7+), Pre-Professional Training, and Professional Training. The faculty comprises experienced and certified teachers who bring professional expertise to the classroom, ensuring high-quality instruction. Beyond regular classes, Hathaway Academy emphasizes artistic expression, stage presence, and deep appreciation for dance, aiming to teach "Lessons of a Lifetime." For serious young dancers aged 12 and up, the rigorous Daytime Professional Training Program offers intensive technical training and essential knowledge for aspiring professionals, including core ballet technique, pointe repertoire, pas de deux, and contemporary classes, complemented by cross-conditioning. Acceptance is by invitation only. A Competitive Training Program (CTP) is also available, providing personalized coaching for competitive goals. Performance opportunities are abundant, including an end-of-year recital, a dedicated performance ensemble for younger students, master classes, and significant stage experience through Collin County Ballet Theatre, such as the renowned Nutcracker production with the Plano Symphony Orchestra. Hathaway Academy cultivates a strong sense of community within a safe, loving, and supportive family-friendly environment, guiding over 350 students on their dance journeys.
