Classes

Tap

Growing up in theatre, Rachael discovered her love for tap, where she trained under leading tap choreographers. She began choreographing her own solos for competitions and won many titles and choreography awards. She transitioned from one musicality-heavy style to another, diving into hip hop and training with industry professionals.

Hip Hop

Rachael has been dancing and choreographing for over 10 years with extensive training in Hip Hop. Growing up in theatre, Rachael discovered her love for tap, where she trained under leading tap choreographers. She began choreographing her own solos for competitions and won many titles and choreography awards. She transitioned from one musicality-heavy style to another, diving into hip hop and training with industry professionals.

Combo / All Other Classes

There are no other specific requirements for any other class. We just ask that every dancer wears appropriate and fitted clothing that they can move in easily and comfortably. Tights and leotards with coverups over are preferred, but dancers can wear athletic clothing as well. Hair must be tied back and out of their face.

Acro / Silks

No midriffs or bare legs will be permitted in ACRO. All students must have tight fitting tshirts or tank tops on, due to the teacher being able to spot them correctly. If wearing shorts, they must have tights on. Their hair must be tied back and out of their face. If students are not dressed correctly, they will be asked to sit and watch the class.

Boys

White fitted t-shirt/tank top along with black fitted shorts, jazz pants or black tights. The white shirt must be tucked in and boys must wear white socks with black split sole ballet shoes.

Pre-Pointe & Pointe

Black leotard, pink tights, Pointe shoes, hair secured neatly back in a bun. Students may wear skirts. Ballet shoes and Pointe shoes must be sewn completely. Tights must be worn over the feet; no jewelry. Girls must wear a black sports bra if one is needed.

Ballet

Black leotard, pink tights, pink split sole ballet shoes, and hair secured neatly back in a bun. Students will be asked to sit and observe class if they are not dressed properly.

Junior Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders

Junior Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders is a non-competitive, recreational performing team consisting of pom classes for dancers who are discovering the love and excitement of dance. This team gives every little girl their chance to experience being a world-famous Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader! These dancers perform high-energy pom based routines at various community events and Dallas Cowboys events.

Tap

Students will be trained in the art of tap dancing, which is the movement of the metal taps under the shoe hitting the floor and creating various rhythms and sounds. Students will gain musicality, sense of rhythm, and technique all revolved around tapping.

Silks
$35 annual equipment fee

Aerial Arts is a captivating and unique form of dance and acrobatics performed on suspended fabrics, hoops, and slings. It’s a fun and challenging way to build strength, flexibility, and confidence. Students will learn to climb, spin, and create beautiful pieces in the air all while developing coordination and body awareness . ***Silks has an annual $35 equipment fee for students registered in the class.

Pointe/Pre-Pointe

Students will learn how to safely execute steps on the boxes of their pointe shoes. While also developing their ballet technique throughout the class to help them properly accomplish the steps. *Dancers will be recommended into pointe classes by teachers and will be required to take at least one ballet class (two suggested) during the week, with one being directly before the pointe class.

Musical Theatre/Voice

Students will dance to current and classic songs from Broadway and other musicals. They will not only learn about Broadway, but what it takes to perform at a 100% level, let loose, and become a whole new character each week. They will also learn and practice singing the Broadway tunes they are dancing to, when the class is designated with a voice title.

Modern

is a highly expressive style of dance that challenges the structured dance technique of classical ballet. The focus of modern dance is expression. Modern dance movements are considered freeform and fluid and are often inspired by other dance styles like African dance, ballet, and folk dance.

Leaps and Turns

Students here will learn the technique behind acquiring the skills needed to accomplish leaps and turns used in the dance world today.

JRDCC – DALLAS COWBOYS CHEERLEADERS ANNOUNCE THE EXPANSION OF THEIR NON – COMPETITIVE, POM CLASSES FOR YOUTH WHO ARE DISCOVERING THE LOVE AND EXCITEMENT OF DANCE.

THEY ARE DISCOVERING THE LOVE AND EXCITEMENT OF DANCE. ****THIS CLASS HAS A SEPARATE FEE AND IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE MONTHLY TUITION.

Jazz

Students will be trained in both technique and honing their skills while learning the true form of jazz. Dancers will perform to a variety of music including Pop, Broadway, and even Instrumental.

Hip Hop

This class will be to upbeat popular clean music. Students will learn various styles including a mix of breaking; popping, locking, and other stylized jazz funk moves.

Drill Team Prep

Students will prepare for Drill Team Auditions while gaining technique, skill, and motivation from past and current DCC/experts, choreographers, and judges for Drill Teams in the area.

Contemporary/Lyrical

Lyrical dance is a combination of ballet & jazz dance techniques that uses theatrical movement to interpret music and express emotion. Contemporary dance is a style of dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical & ballet.

Stretching/Conditioning

Students will learn what it takes to dig deep and push themselves further than they have before in a workout/stretch session.

Company

Classes titled “Company” are designed for the dancer who wants to compete at a higher level, train as a member on our Company Team, and prepare for the 2024- 2025 Competition Season.

Combo Classes

Children will learn the fundamentals of tap and ballet in these classes. They will acquire classroom etiquette, learn creative movement, and gain musicality and basic technique.

Choreography/Improv

Students will learn how to create their own movement through improvisation and other creative movement exercises. Students will be able to create, perform, and teach their choreography. This class is perfect for the dancer who wants to teach and choreograph in the future.

Ballet

Students will be placed in a level 1 – 7 at the beginning of the year. In each level they will learn the fundamentals of ballet, perfect their technique, and work on the French terminology of the classical art form.

Acrobatic Arts/Tumbling

Students will learn the fundamentals in acrobatics and strengthening skills. Teachers are certified acrobatics instructors. The program is based on safe and effective progressions with proven results in 5 divisions of AcroDance; flexibility, strength, balancing, limbering & tumbling. Simple, thoughtful, progressions take the beginner preschool level dancer from log rolls and summersaults to the advanced dancer tumbling effortlessly across the stage!
