Greater San Antonio Academy of Ballet, located in San Antonio, Texas, was founded in 2016 by former professional ballet dancers Jose Gonzalez and Carol Tang. With a shared passion for classical ballet, they established their inaugural location with a dedication to extending the reach of this art form. The academy now proudly serves two locations, aiming to inspire the next generation of dancers in San Antonio and Boerne. Jose Gonzalez, a former principal dancer with extensive international experience in classical and contemporary ballets, and Carol Tang, a scholarship graduate with a BFA in ballet performance who has performed leading roles and been promoted to soloist, bring a wealth of expertise to their students. Their rigorous training and performance backgrounds enrich the curriculum, focusing on the art form of ballet and fostering body awareness, confidence, and discipline. The academy emphasizes classical ballet, as demonstrated by their recent "Nutcracker" cast and the impressive achievements of students like Liliana (age 12), Fiamma, Jasmine, and Dahae, who received top placements at ADC/IBC 2024. Greater San Antonio Academy of Ballet is dedicated to nurturing future stars within the classical ballet tradition and provides a nurturing environment for aspiring dancers to develop their skills and artistry. They also offer specialized programs, such as the Summer Ballet Intensive 2026 (June 15th - July 17th), which welcomes out-of-town students and those with prior experience. The academy is committed to spreading the art of classical ballet and providing aspiring dancers with a strong foundation.
