Founded in June 2023 by Oakley Palfreyman Johnson, the studio is dedicated to fostering a love of dance within the community and helping each dancer reach their full potential. Our talented instructors, including Oakley Palfreyman Johnson (19 years of experience, Associate's Degree in Dance Education, Performer of the Year recipient), Alyssa Collier (trained in ballet, jazz, tap, musical theater, lyrical, pointe, acro, and contemporary), and Amanda (over 20 years of experience in ballet, jazz, and modern dance), bring passion and expertise to every class. We offer a comprehensive curriculum encompassing Ballet (utilizing the Cecchetti method), Jazz (focusing on body isolations and across the floor technique), Tap, Lyrical, Musical Theater, Hip Hop (including freestyle and street dance styles like breakdancing, popping, locking, and house dance), Acrobatics (building flexibility, aerial awareness, and safe tumbling skills), Contemporary, Modern, Barre, and Zumba. For younger children, Creative/Combo classes introduce fundamental body movements and dance elements. We also feature an upcoming Social Dance program, teaching partner dancing with styles like Cha Cha, East Coast Swing, Foxtrot, and Waltz, emphasizing precise footwork and musicality. The Oaks Dance Studio also cultivates dedicated dancers through its esteemed Dance Company, offering opportunities for extra performances, convention participation with master teachers, and engagement with guest choreographers, all while requiring participation in foundational Ballet and Jazz classes.
