Teresa's School of Baton & Dance, nestled in Collinsville, Virginia, has been a vibrant hub for aspiring dancers of all ages, welcoming students from three years old and up for an impressive 40 years. Under the dedicated guidance of owner Teresa Martin, a qualified member of Dance Educators and certified by D.M.A. with gold-seal judge status, the studio fosters a love for movement and performance. Teresa's expertise has cultivated numerous state, regional, and national championship titles for her students. Enhancing the faculty is Chelsea Krontz, who holds a bachelor's degree in dance and has guided her students to accolades in hip hop, ballet, tap, jazz, and lyrical dance. Together, Miss Teresa and Miss Chelsea were honored with the Marjorie Perry Spirit award for their commitment to dance education. The studio offers a comprehensive and diverse range of classes designed to nurture talent from beginner to advanced levels. Students can explore foundational techniques through "Regular (Combo)" classes, integrating Ballet, Tap, and Baton. Energetic Hip Hop, rhythmic Jazz, and dynamic Acro (combining tumbling and flexibility) are also featured. For classical refinement, Pointe classes are available by instructor approval. Enthusiasts can enjoy Adult Line Dance sessions. The specialized baton twirling program is showcased in its own recital. Teresa's School of Baton & Dance regularly engages the community through annual recitals, the Martinsville/Henry County Parade, and other local events. Competitive teams are offered via audition and invitation, providing dedicated students an avenue for higher-level performance.
