About Dream On Dance

Dream On Dance, located in Dulles, Virginia, has been fostering happy, confident dancers since its founding in 2018 by Grace Martin. The studio is dedicated to creating a comfortable, inclusive, and judgment-free environment where dancers of all ages can explore their personal relationship with dance. Dream On Dance offers a broad spectrum of styles including Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Lyrical, and Musical Theater, building a strong foundation in technical and artistic growth, and nurturing musicality and choreography skills. Our esteemed team of instructors includes Grace Martin (Ballet, Jazz, Tap), Elizabeth Spikes (Contemporary), Sydney Gondringer (Ballet), Lisa Rizzo (Early Education Dance), Jordan Kesler (Ballet & Pointe), Taylor Smith (Hip Hop), and Lauryn Small (Early Development & Ballet). Dream On Dance provides a variety of performance opportunities designed to build confidence, from "Parent Watch Week" for younger students to a "Spring Showcase" for older dancers. The Dream On Dance Performance Group also offers dedicated students opportunities to showcase their talent. We aim to be a welcoming home away from home where every dancer can shine and develop their unique artistry.

Performance Group
$40.00

The Performance Group is an extracurricular dance program for students who meet specific qualifications. Participants must be enrolled in at least the Advanced Beginner level of classes and be registered in a minimum of two classes, with at least one being ballet and the second being either ballet or jazz. This group offers students the opportunity to perform and showcase their dance abilities. The cost for participation in the Performance Group is $40 per month.

Advanced

Advanced is a dance class level designed for highly proficient dancers seeking to further challenge and refine their skills. The studio fosters an inclusive environment for advanced students to explore complex choreography and push artistic boundaries. Specific dress code details for the Advanced level classes are not provided, but would typically align with rigorous dance training requirements.

Hip-Hop

Hip-Hop is a dynamic dance class focused on urban dance styles, open to students of all levels. Starburst level

Adult Advanced Jazz/Tap

Currently not offered Adult advanced dance will cater to students who have previous dance experience. The class will switch off between Jazz and Tap and will have a long warm up, some across the floor, and end with choreography. (Please note the class time may move to an early time depending on registration in earlier classes)

Adult Beginner Dance

Currently not offered Dance for adults will cover multiple dance styles including Ballet, Jazz, and Tap for students who have taken little to no dance. The class will be catered to the participants and will focus on a certain style for a few months then move on to a new style. (Please note the class time may move to an early time depending on registration in earlier classes)

Advanced Intermediate Jazz

Designed to enhance leaps and turns as well as flexibility and strength. Includes a strong focus on musicality and choreography so each student is given the opportunity to work on their creative vision. Must have previous dance training.

Designed for students who are ready for advanced rhythmic combinations and speeds. Focuses on sequencing and clarity of sounds as well as creating new rhythm combinations and individual exploration. Must have previous dance training.

Intermediate Ballet

Moving forward with ballet with a larger emphasis on center work and developing balance and flexibility to help maximize the potential for the completion of complex movement. Include pre-point exercises.

Ballet Technique II

This class must be taken in additional to another ballet class. Designed to take a greater focus on ballet terminology and movement. Students are expected to work at home as well as in the studio on the class technique. This class does not participate in Parent Watch Week.

Pre-Teen Hip-Hop

Designed to start work on basic pop and lock skills and sharp movement to create a base for more advanced freezes and intricate steps.

Pre-Teen Jazz & Tap

Designed to start working on flexibility, basic turns, and basic jumps. Also includes how to dance with a group. Also, begins to work on piecing basic tap steps together and counting tap steps in the center

Pre-Teen Ballet

Builds on basic barre technique adding in new combinations. Develops ballet posture and positions in the center of the room. Moves skills across the floor.

Ballet Technique I

This class must be taken in additional to another ballet class. Designed to take a greater focus on ballet terminology and movement. Students are expected to work at home as well as in the studio on the class technique. This class does not participate in Parent Watch Week.

Pre-intermediate Jazz & Tap

Designed to start advancing tap terminology and to work on more complex sounds and rhythm combinations. Designed to introduce intermediate turns and jumps as well as incorporate flexibility into strengthening kicks and jumps.

Pre-intermediate Ballet

Designed to solidify the basic ballet moves and terminology. Dancers will learn more complex combinations and sequencing.

Advanced Beginner Hip Hop

Designed to expand on working with basic pop and lock skills and sharp movement to create a base for more advanced freezes and intricate steps.

Advanced Beginner Jazz & Tap

Focuses on developing flexibility, turns, and jumps that were previously introduced. Adding more complex movements to steps and combinations to help develop a better understanding of musicality and choreography. In tap it moves forward with rhythm skills and works on increasing the amount of sounds steps produce.

Advanced Beginner Ballet

Builds on basic barre technique moving through steps with more detail and working on increasing the tempo of barre, center, and across the floor activities.

Novice Jazz & Tap

Designed to start working on flexibility, basic turns, and basic jumps, as well as how to dance in a group in jazz. Designed to work on basic tap steps with rhythms and counting in the center and across the floor as well as tapping in time to music. Builds on the knowledge acquired in Starburst Jazz & Tap, but Starburst Jazz & Tap is not a prerequisite

Novice Ballet

Designed to start working on ballet vocabulary within a normal class structure consisting of both a bar and a center segment. Includes developmental movement and music discovery. Also designed to continue rhythm exploration and basic tap vocabulary as well as begin to develop putting movement into sequence.

Twinkle Toes II Combo

Ballet and tap combo. Designed to delve deeper into motor skills as well as basic ballet positions. Students will also begin to work on creativity and musicality. Also, designed to work on basic rhythm and tap vocabulary. Starting to build set steps that can be used in sequences at a higher level.

Twinkle Toes

Ballet class. Designed to develop motor skills and social skills as well as simple classroom etiquette.
