Classes

CONTEMPORARY

Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. Dancers will strive to connect the mind and body through fluid dance movements.

POINTE & PRE-POINT

Dancers must have taken at least one year and be at least 11 years of age. For the safety of the dancer, a teacher recommendation is required for pointe shoes and we are looking for dancers with strong core and ankle strength and dancers who are able to hold their ballet placement at barre and center.

MODERN

This form of dance pulls away from Ballet’s traditional systematical, poise and lifting the core to focuses on works that are asymmetrical body contractions. Each level provides students with the opportunity to explore moving in different levels and planes in space, using their spine fully.

THEATRE JAZZ

Does your child dream of dancing on Broadway? Students will learn the dance technique such as Fosse and acting involved for dancing in a musical! Your child will dance to their favorite songs from musicals such as “Annie,” “Lion King,” and “Seussical”. Body isolations, stretch, turning, leaping and technical steps are still taught in this class. This class is perfect for dancers who aspire to join a show choir or drama club.

TAP

Focuses on rhythms and patterns in footwork through proper technique, personal style and producing clear sounds. Classes include a variety of styles from Broadway to Rhythm tap. Exercises focus on building strength and flexibility in the knees and ankles, coordination, and speed.

JAZZ

Jazz is sharp and fluid movements to create a visually technical dance and style. It is usually done to popular music. Body isolations, stretch, turning, leaping and technical steps are taught in this class.

HIP HOP

This dance form focuses on the current street style of dance. The dancer will learn high-energy routines demonstrating style and rhythm. Classes are age-appropriate, and music is carefully selected for each class.

BATON

This form of dance combines the manipulation of a metal rod and the human body to a coordinated routine. Dancers learn to understand coordination, rhythm and timing with the baton. Depending on the skill level, Twirlers may incorporate multiple baton, flags and/or swords.

BALLET

Ballet is the “backbone” of all dance training. Ballet classes teach proper body aliment while also building grace, elegance, technique, discipline, flexibility, stamina, and endurance. Advanced levels are a continual study of fundamentals, extended to emotional expression and precision, as well as developing fluid artistic control. It is strongly encouraged that all dancers continue the study of Ballet in addition to other forms of dance.

PRESCHOOL & Pre-k MOVEMENT

Young dancers will emphasize on creative dance, body and space awareness, rhythms, Ballet and Tap fundamentals and terminology.

TINY TOTS

This fun and exciting class inspires creativity, teaches coordination, musicality, and introduces the fundamentals of ballet, while incorporating creative movement. Students will develop strength, dance technique, rhythm, and body awareness. This class is an excellent way for children to gain self-confidence, listening and learning skills preparing them for the next step in their dance training.
