WEAD Private Lessons
$100 per person/per hour depending on the instructor.

We are happy to offer private individual and group lessons. Please note that private instruction is not in place of regular weekly classes, but utilized for additional preparation and training. Group private lessons are ideal for weddings, birthday parties, corporate events, and any other occasion.

Sculpt & Strengthen Barre Blast

This class will be taught by one of our esteemed dance faculty members, Arianna Lawson. Barre is a workout technique that focuses on low-impact, high-intensity movements. The class is focused on cardio, strength training and stretching. You will learn proper technique and form to help strengthen and tone your body. Come work out with us!

Barre/Pilates Fusion

Yoga ball and light hand weights will give you an extra burn in this strength-focused, low impact Pilates-inspired workout. With minimal rest in between each exercise, you’ll activate your core and engage your glutes using controlled movements while incorporating your breath. A fun but challenging group exercise class for all levels!

Adult Contemporary

Adult Contemporary is a dance class that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, and ballet. Class includes a warm up, across the floor exercises, and choreography. Geared towards dancers with some prior dance experience. Come move with Mr. Miguel!

Adult Musical Theater Dance

This is a fun, high energy class geared towards adults with some dance or theater background. Dancers will learn choreography inspired by some of Broadway's greatest hits!

Adult Ballet

Designed to be accessible for all adults, with a focus on gradually warming up the body with ballet barre and center exercises. This class is centering, energizing, and fun! Our standard Adult Ballet classes are taught at an intermediate level. We also offer Beginning Adult Ballet as well as Advanced/Professional Adult Ballet.

Tap III

Intermediate and advanced rhythm tap. These classes continues the development of tap technique & terminology. Students will further develop skills including musicality and sound clarity with an added focus on increasing speed, and developing style.

Tap II

Build upon the basic fundamentals of rhythm tap through musicality, coordination, and sound. The focus of each tap class is to improve the student’s sound clarity, rhythm and musicality, timing and phrasing. Classes are structured in the traditional tap format; warm-up exercises, technique and progressive movements, combination or dance routine. For dancers with 1-2 years of tap experience.

Tap I

An introductory tap class where dancers will gain a basic understanding of tap steps and terminology while exploring rhythms and movement.

Modern III

This advanced class is designed for students with a high degree of technical level and the ability to adapt their skills to a variety of forms within the modern dance discipline. Students are provided with technically challenging material to expand their movement capabilities, which aids in their artistic growth as performers. Personal movement style and individual performance are strongly emphasized. For Ballet VIII dancers.

Modern II

This intermediate class reinforces the fundamental concepts of space, time, and energy through the practices of modern dance techniques. Intermediate modern students focus on alignment, technique, and performance. In addition, this class explores floor work, partnering, and improvisation. For Ballet VI and VII dancers

Musical Theatre Dance

A fun and informative class where students get to dive into different styles of the American musical. The class will include a warm-up followed by a combination from a musical and will touch on iconic choreographers and their contribution to the art form.

Teen Jazz

An accelerated intermediate level class that explores classic jazz isolations, proper warm up and stretching, across the floor progressions, and phrase work to practice learning choreography. This class is designed for the teen dancer with little or no prior experience.

Jazz V and VI

This advanced jazz technique class offers students an opportunity to push themselves technically, while further developing their performative range and individual artistic voice. The warm-up and progressions use classic jazz techniques to develop students' musicality, athleticism, alignment, and performance. For Ballet VIII dancers.

Jazz IV

This intermediate jazz technique class includes a full warm-up, across-the-floor progressions, and stylized movement focusing on musicality, quality of movement, and expression. This class gives students a thorough grounding in jazz terminology and technique while giving them an opportunity to grow as performers. For Ballet VI and VII dancers.

Jazz III

A high-energy class that focuses on rhythm, isolations, and style. Students will develop a foundation of basic jazz techniques including jumps, pirouettes, across-the-floor progressions, and stylized movement. For Ballet IV and V dancers.

Jazz II

A high-energy class for beginners that focuses on rhythm and baseline jazz technique, proper warm-up and stretching, stylized movement, and basic across-the-floor progressions.

Jazz I

An introduction to jazz technique with an emphasis on FUN! This class combines elements of dance with music, sound, imagery, and props to teach basic jazz motor skills, movement patterns, rhythm, balance, and dynamics.

Advanced Hip Hop II (ages 14+)

This advanced level class will build upon the fundamental moves of hip hop through across the floor and challenging center combinations. This high energy class will emphasize musicality, coordination, basic footwork, improvisation, strength building, and style. For mature dancers with at least 2 years of hip hop experience.

Hip Hop I (ages 10-13)

Level I hip hop will teach the fundamental moves of hip hop through across the floor and center combinations. This high energy class will emphasize musicality, coordination, basic footwork, improvisation, strength building and style. No experience required.

Hippity Hoppity (ages 7-9)

This introductory class will teach students the fundamental hip hop movements. Students will practice proper warm up, stretching, across the floor, and dance combinations. This high energy class will emphasize musicality, coordination, basic footwork, and style. No experience required.

Commercial Contemporary III

For Ballet VIII dancers. We will explore the total movement potential of the body. This class combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical, and classical ballet. This dance style can be found on SYTYCD, commercials, Broadway, movies, or on tours with recording artists.

Commercial Contemporary II

For Ballet VI and VII dancers. We will explore the total movement potential of the body. This class combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical, and classical ballet. This dance style can be found on SYTYCD, commercials, Broadway, movies, or on tours with recording artists.

Contemporary I

an introduction to combining classical ballet technique with the floor work and dynamics of modern dance. This class also explores storytelling through current music. Dancers are strongly encouraged to have at least 2 years of ballet training.

Advanced Basic Ballet and Pointe

Boys Ballet

This class is designed to incorporate WEAD's ballet syllabus in addition to developing the student’s large motor skills, flexibility, and strength. The class provides a learning environment that encourages technique and athleticism as well as camaraderie with fellow boys. Should be taken in conjunction with a regular season ballet class.

Ballet VIII

Our most advanced level ballet & pointe technique class. Students continue developing their strength and flexibility, while adding performance quality. It is a structured ballet class consisting of full barre work, adagio, pirouettes, petite allegro and grand allegro, all with emphasis on proper technique and quality of movement.

Ballet VII

Advanced level ballet and pointe technique. Students continue developing their strength and flexibility, while adding performance quality. It is a structured ballet class consisting of full barre work, adagio, pirouettes, petite allegro and grand allegro, all with emphasis on proper technique and quality of movement. Pointe work is done in center, away from the barre, at this level.

Ballet VI

Upper level ballet & pointe technique. This class works on advancing and strengthening the dancer through a structured technical class consisting of full barre work, center combinations and across the floor exercises, all with emphasis on proper alignment, posture and technique.

Ballet V

An intermediate level ballet class that involves pre-pointe and beginning pointe work. This class focuses on advancing and strengthening the dancer through a structured technical class. At least 2 years of consecutive ballet training is required to be evaluated for pointe. Teacher recommendation required.

Ballet IV

This level is designed for dancers with two or more years of continuous study. Ballet IVA continues the fundamentals of classical ballet focusing on use of the arms and head. This is a structured ballet class consisting of full barre work, center combinations and across the floor exercises, all with emphasis on proper alignment, posture and technique.

Ballet III

In this class, students develop the strength and elegance of a ballet dancer, while learning discipline, classroom etiquette and the love of ballet. A structured ballet class is taught, consisting of an introduction to barre work, center combinations and across the floor exercises, all with emphasis on proper alignment, posture and technique.

Ballet II

This class prepares children for traditional ballet techniques. Proper posture, alignment, and musicality are taught through ballet barre work, imaginative games and across the floor exercises.

Ballet I

This class teaches children the beginning fundamentals of ballet such as ballet steps, stretching, across the floor exercises and center activities, as well as ballet technique and vocabulary.

Pre-Ballet
