Classes
Ballet 4
Pointe shoes should be brought to all classes. Students are required to take a minimum of four Ballet 4 classes per week (Thursdays are required) but may take all five as well as unlimited classes in Ballet 1-3. Leotard : black, any style except halter-neck, rhinestone, or cut-out. Class Schedule : Mondays 6:00-7:30 conditioning, 7:30-8:00 technique. Wednesdays 6:00-6:30 conditioning, 6:30-8:00 technique. Thursdays 4 6:00-7:15 technique, 7:15-8:00 variations. Fridays 4:00-5:30 technique. Saturdays 10:00-11:30am technique, 11:45-12:30 pointe.

Drop-in classes offer dancers a flexible schedule while still giving them the opportunity to stay in shape and work on their technique. Drop-ins can be paid for on-site, or you can purchase a "dance card" on Dance Studio-Pro to get a discount on multiple classes.

Fairytale Ballet incorporates dance, art, and in a fun-filled workshop for young dancers with or without prior ballet experience.

The Snow Queen
Experience the magic of the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale "The Snow Queen" in anticipation of SYB's winter 2026 production. Students will learn the original story and dance as various characters, including Kai and Gerda, the Ravens, the Prince and Princess, the Reindeer, and of course, the Snow Queen herself. This beautiful story of friendship and perseverance will inspire and delight our young dancers!
Beginning Intensive
Beginning Intensive: Jul 7-18 $150 per week 10:30-2:00 (workshop only) 10:45-2:45 (workshop + showcase) Recommended for current AOD Ballet 1A-1B students Recommended for dancers ages 8-10 with at least 1 year of formal ballet training Daily classes will include body conditioning and ballet technique. Additional technique classes can include jazz, character, modern, and musical theater. Lectures and Q&As will take place during lunch each day. Showcase students will attend one 30-minute rehearsal at the end of the day.
Cinderella
Cinderella the ballet is even more magical than the Disney movie - for starters, it has way more fairies! Come explore the music of Prokofiev, view excerpts from the ballet, and have fun embodying the different characters, from the mysterious and beautiful Fairy Godmother to the hilarious Jester and Stepsisters. You don't want to miss seeing this side of one of your favorite fairy tales!
Advanced Intensive
Advanced Intensive: July 14-25 $200 per week 9:30-2:00 (workshop only) 9:30-4:00 (workshop + showcase) Recommended for current AOD Ballet 4-5 studentsRecommended for dancers aged 14+ with at least 3 years of pointe training Daily classes will include body conditioning, ballet technique, and pointe technique. Additional technique classes can include jazz, character, modern, contemporary, and impvrosiation. Lectures and Q&As will take place during lunch each day. Showcase students will attend two 45-minute rehearsals at the end of the day.

Adult Ballet
Our Adult Ballet program offers beginning-level classes to teens and adults of all ages, with or without prior experience. The class includes barre, center work, jumps, and basic turns. Like all Academy classes, our Adult Ballet instruction is grounded in an understanding of body mechanics, meaning that dancers will learn how to perform movements safely and efficiently, building strength and flexibility throughout the body.
Beginning and Beginning/Intermediate Adult Drop-ins

Fairytale Ballet
Fairytale Ballet is an engaging introduction to the ballet world for young dancers with or without prior experience. Each day consists of age-appropriate dance instruction, a themed craft, a healthy snack, and story time. The workshop will culminate in a mini-performance for parents.

Each day will consist of a warmup and ballet technique class, followed by craft time. After lunch, students will take a short additional technique class in jazz, character, or musical theater, followed by a stretch period. During lunch, students will have the opportunity to watch videos of professional ballet performances.

Mini Intensive
Mini Intensive: July 28 - August 1 $150 (one week only) 10:30-2:00 Recommended for current AOD Elementary 3 and Ballet 1A students Recommended for dancers ages 6-8; at least 1 year of ballet or pre-ballet training recommended This workshop is the perfect bridge between Elementary (pre-ballet) and formall ballet technique. Each day will consist of a warmup and ballet technique class, followed by craft time. After lunch, students will take a short additional technique class in jazz, character, or musical theater, followed by a stretch period. During lunch, students will have the opportunity to watch videos of professional ballet performances.
