Nestled in the heart of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Barb's Centre For Dance is a vibrant hub for aspiring dancers of all ages. This established studio offers a rich and diverse curriculum, ensuring that every student can find their perfect fit within the world of movement. Essence Dance Company Teams

Our Company teams are designed for dancers with extreme focus, motivation, and a drive for the professional dance world. Company will function as a dynamic performing group and competition team. Company members will learn through self-discipline and time management. Company members will know the importance of teamwork and they will learn crucial life lessons along the way. They will earn a positive self-image that they take with them in their individual pursuit of their goals and dreams. BCFD Company will focus heavily on technique in all disciplines of dance: they will attend dance conventions and have potential opportunities to go on dance-related trips and master classes during the year. They will also attend four regional competitions and a National competition.

Extreme Travel Teams

If your child is the more serious dancer (contemplating going to school for dance or possibly wanting a career in the field) we offer national teams that compete at four regional competitions a year and one national competition. They will also attend a convention/workshop. In addition to the extra technique classes, being a part of the Travel Teams takes a higher level of commitment and more hours of dedication.

Stars Pre Travel Teams

Designed for dancers that would like to attend one (1) additional, regional competition and have a desire to join a travel team in the future.

Prep Teams

For dancers who are passionate yet wanting to keep their outside extracurricular activities we have six competition teams that attend two or three regional competitions a year. These kids are required to take extra technique classes and be present at all scheduled rehearsals.

Competitive Dance

For students with experience in tap, jazz and ballet and have a passion to compete in dance: Audition placement is required, as being a part of these programs is a privilege and dancers have greater expectations to follow. AUDITION INFORMATION WILL BE AVAILABLE IN MAY OF EACH YEAR. We offer many levels of competitive dance teams, see below:

Ballet

Boys Only Ballet

Ballet 360 also offers a Boys Only Ballet class for those enrolled in levels III and IV/V. The class emphasizes on strength, pirouette technique and focus on movements that are more commonly used in male variations.

Ballet 360

Our ballet academy provides unmatched ballet training for the Green Bay and Fox Valley area. Ballet 360 by Barb's Centre for Dance provides a flexible training schedule for all ballet students while maintaining a high level of focus and is available at both our Green Bay and Fox Valley locations. Ballet 360 students can cross over between both locations. The name Ballet 360, suggests and promotes the idea that our ballet training encompasses and surrounds all other dance technique providing the core and foundation for a solid, well rounded dance education. The Ballet 360 program is a versatile and comprehensive training program based on the fundamentals of classical ballet. The program offers a wide range of classes all designed to maximize the students potential and growth. Our goal is to emphasize technical proficiency, artistry and education to prepare students for professional careers in all forms of dancing.

Tumbling

Tumbling Classes are available at our Fox Valley studio Level I/II students will begin to learn cartwheels, handstands, somersaults, round offs, back bends and other beginning tumbling skills. Our level III/IV class will work on more advanced tumbling skills necessary for dance and will work on back handsprings, aerials, and more. We suggest having a cartwheels, back bends, and roundoffs mastered for this higher level class. Tumbling classes do not perform in recitals.

Ballet 360 Academy

Ballet 360 Academy by Barb's Centre for Dance, provides unmatched ballet training for the Green Bay and Fox Valley area. Ballet 360 provides a flexible training schedule for all ballet students. Ballet 360 is available at both our Green Bay and Fox Valley locations.

No Limits Dance

“No Limits Dance” is a class specifically designed for individuals ages 5 and up who have a developmental or physical disability. This all abilities class will be adaptive based upon the specific needs of each individual and will help further develop social skills, improve coordination, and boost confidence in an upbeat and supportive environment. Throughout the year we will explore several different styles of dance, including ballet, jazz, hip hop, and lyrical. The dancers will also be learning a routine that will have two optional recital performances. Dance has such an amazing impact on the lives of our dancers and it not only benefits them physically but emotionally as well and is a great way to communicate and express yourself without words. We believe it truly is “more than just dance” and are so excited to be able to spread the joy of dance with people of all abilities!

Conditioning, Flexibility, Leaps & Turns

This class is recommended for any dancer who wants to improve their technical skills while building the proper strength and flexibility. The focus of this class is aimed at strengthening specific muscle groups while incorporating full body stretches to increase flexibility and range of motion. Instructors provide a breakdown and extra help in achieving leaps and turn progressions used in all styles of dance! *Non-performance/recital class.

Hippity Hop & Hip Hop

Hippity Hop (4-6 Year Olds): Hip Hop for the young dancer, this class is great for getting the wiggles out while teaching body basics used in hip hop in a fun, engaging setting. Simple choreography and big movements help little ones gain mastery of material. Super fun while burning tons of energy! Hip Hop: This style of dance adds diversity to a student’s training. The focus of this athletic and energetic dance class is to use isolations and free-style movement set to popular age appropriate music. Classes are 40 minutes. Students will learn one hippity/hip hop routine to show off their moves in one of our spring recitals.

Tap and Jazz Classes

Our tap and jazz class introduces our dancers to the basic movements of tap and jazz technique. Students will learn beginning movements with an emphasis on musicality, rhythm and stylization. The class offers dancers a breakdown of the steps with an emphasis on proper technique. Students dance to fun and upbeat age appropriate music while learning routines to on-trend choreography. Students will learn one routine for each class chosen and perform in one of our spring recital shows. Classes for ages 7-9 includes 25 minutes of tap and 25 minutes of jazz. Students will learn a tap and a jazz routine and will perform in one of our spring recitals. For ages 10+ and 12+, individual (non-combo) classes are available ala-carte, each running 40 minutes.

Tap/Pre Ballet Combination Classes

This combination class offers the benefit of both tap and ballet in one. The focus in this class is to introduce the basic steps of dance through creative movement and imagery. As they progress in age, they will continue to build upon and strengthen the fundamentals of dance though proper vocabulary. Class includes 25 minutes of tap and 25 minutes of pre-ballet and will perform a tap and ballet routine in one of our spring recital shows.

Two-Year-Old Movement

This class is designed for our youngest dancers. The class will focus on basic movements and introduce the dancer to the classroom/studio setting. Dancers have the option of purchasing a costume and performing in the year end recital. Dancers must be two years old to enroll in class.
