About Academy of Dance

Academy of Dance, located in Racine, Wisconsin, offers a comprehensive and nurturing environment for dancers of all ages. Founded by Bonnie Konsinowski, whose extensive training includes the American Ballet Theatre, Joffrey Ballet instructors, jazz legends Peter Gennaro and Gus Giordano, and tap masters Tommy Sutton and Al Gilbert, the studio continues its rich legacy under the leadership of Owner/Director Kelli Bertone. Bertone, who began her dance journey at the studio at age two, has trained with renowned professionals nationwide, including Fernando Bujones in Ballet and Mia Michaels in Jazz. We provide a diverse range of dance disciplines, fostering a passion for movement from foundational Ballet classes starting at age 3. Our curriculum is designed to build technique and artistic expression, offering intermediate and advanced instruction in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, and Musical Theater. Class lengths are tailored to developmental needs: Ballet classes are a full hour, Hip Hop, Jazz, Contemporary, Musical Theater, and Tap are 45 minutes, and Pointe classes (taken with Ballet) are 30 minutes. Instructors with professional performance backgrounds guide students, ensuring high-quality dance education. Academy of Dance also highlights competitive opportunities, with former students achieving success in pageants like Miss Racine and Miss Wisconsin. Students showcase their progress through events like the annual Christmas Show and the highly anticipated Recital, fostering a lifelong love of dance within the Racine community.
