About Performing Hearts Dance Studio

Performing Hearts Dance Studio, nestled in the vibrant community of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, has been fostering a passion for dance and artistic expression since its founding in February 2011. Led by best friends and business partners Miss Cally and Miss Ally, the studio offers a diverse range of classes for dancers of all ages, from 3 years old through high school. Our comprehensive curriculum introduces young dancers (ages 3-6) to foundational combo classes blending ballet, jazz, and tap. As students progress, they can explore an expanded curriculum including jazz, hip hop, contemporary, modern/lyrical, and tap. For older students and teens, we provide specialized hour-long classes in modern/lyrical, jazz, tap, and hip hop, alongside focused technique classes for leaps and turns, and dedicated tap technique. Specialty and company classes are available for dedicated dancers seeking advanced training, technique, conditioning, and elevated performance quality. Company classes, for ages 7 and up, are designed for those aiming for advanced technique and performance experiences. Miss Cally guides the majority of classes, known for her creative recital productions, while Miss Ally ensures a seamless and welcoming experience for all dance families through her tech and communication expertise. At Performing Hearts, we emphasize building confidence, offering corrections, and one-on-one guidance to promote continuous growth. Our philosophy centers on creating artistic pieces that reflect everyday life, fostering a supportive and energetic environment where dancers are encouraged to work hard, laugh, and uplift one another, creating a true dance family experience. We are dedicated to nurturing talent and providing a positive, encouraging environment for every dancer to shine.

Modern/Lyrical

Lyrical, modern, jazz and tap combination classes

These combination classes features the widest span of ages, all of which are expected to dance to the level of choreography presented. Lyrical and modern dances become more involved in a play on words and will usually tell a story, jazz and tap combinations get more difficult as choreography prepares our oldest combination class for their teen classes and even college level dance classes. Facials and performance quality are used in pieces which open and close our shows usually.

Hip-hop, jazz, lyrical and tap combo class

Expansion on the 7-8 year combo class with heavier emphasis in choreography and skill sets for across the floor routines. Kicks, turns and combinations involving intricate counts are included in these classes. Performance quality is expected from this point forward, class involves hip-hop, jazz, lyrical and tap.

Jazz, lyrical and tap

Dancers begin to learn warm-ups, floor work and steps they will carry on to more advanced classes, focusing on moving through the space of the studio/stage and enhancing their showmanship during choreographed routines. This age begins to perform jazz, lyrical and tap in recitals.

Tap, jazz and ballet combination class

This combination class expands the basics of a 3-4 class and gives dancers the chance to learn more about the genres of tap, jazz and ballet in one class. Performing Hearts Dance Studio begins to emphasize the performance quality of movements at this age and will work with dancers on precision of movements throughout the session.

Ballet and tap

Ballet and tap are introduced to our dancers at this age. Ballet positions, terminology, basic floor and foot work is taught on a weekly basis; slowly working up to choreography in dances which is both educational and fun. Tap rhythms and basics are taught numerous ways to students (clapping, maracas, etc.) and all 3-4 year old tappers perform a yearly ‘traditions tap’ dance created by Performing Hearts that focuses on the basic tap techniques.
