Ballet/Tap and or Jazz Acro is a combo class designed to develop beginner technique in both ballet and tap for our 4 (with previous dance experience) and 5 /6 year old dancers. The class is also split into 30 minute sections with instruction in each genre every week.

We also offer Pilates and Adult Classes. Molding our students with strong self-esteem and leadership to help prepare them in any chosen field of life, it is Our hope and mission is to produce a conducive and caring atmosphere for our students with a family like environment.

West Main Studios offers a full curriculum in all dance genres'. Established in 1996, our program includes Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop and Acrobatics. We strive to provide continuing education in the performing arts, with the highest quality of dance instructors while conducive to a family like atmosphere. It is our goal and wish for all of our students to excel not only in their chosen discipline but in life. Teaching a common thread of respect for one another, while building self-esteem and bonds with life-long friends.

The beauty of private lessons is that they are focused on one individual, and one individual only. Building technique and working on specific idiosyncrasies is a major plus when working with a dancer privately. Technique focused lessons are a great fit for strong dancers who desire more of a challenge and those who need more practice alike.

Stage Arts is a combination class designed to develop beginner technique in both Ballet/Tap or Jazz/Acro for our 4 (with previous dance experience) and 5 year old dancers. The class will be split into 30 minute sections with instruction in each genre every week.

Creative Movement Ballet/ Tap is a combination class designed to develop beginner technique in both Ballet/Tap or Jazz/Acro for our 3 and 4 year old dancers. The class will be split into 30 minute sections with instruction in each genre every week.

Hip Hop is a high-energy class that infuses the latest styles of hip hop dance. Classes will encourage students to step outside of the box by bringing their own individual style and personality to the movements.

Tap classes are designed to develop rhythm, style and sound. Exercises focus on building flexibility of the knee and ankles, coordination, and speed of movement.

Acrobatics uses strength and flexibility to perform gymnastic-based tricks and incorporates them in dance choreography. In this class, students perform conditioning exercises to prepare them for increased difficulty. Acrobatics technique includes tumbling, conditioning, flexibility, proper form and strengthening.

Jazz is one of the popular styles of dance! Our jazz classes are high energy classes that focus on technique and musicality. These one-hour classes work through a warm-up, across the floor techniques, and combos. Dancers will also learn skills in leaps, turns, and jumps.

Contemporary Dance is an expressive style of dance that abandons the rigid, centered aspect of classical forms of dance, and utilizes unconventional movements from styles around the world. It incorporates certain elements of ballet, modern dance, and jazz. Past Ballet Experience is needed for this class or you must take a ballet and contemporary class in order to gain the best experience.

Pointe is designed for students with previous ballet training. Students will utilize previously learned ballet technique while working in pointe shoes. Each class includes barre exercises, center floor work and across the floor combinations. These exercises focus on strengthening the feet and ankles. Our Pre-Pointe class will work to meet the technical ability required for pointe shoes. Taking a Pointe Class means you will also be required to take a ballet class. Strength is important for this genre' and having the ability to be on "Pointe" is dependent upon these two classes.

Ballet is a classical dance form demanding grace and precision and employing formalized steps and gestures set in intricate, flowing patterns to create expression through movement. Simply said, it is the ABC's of all dance and from which most other forms originate. Ballet curriculum will use barre, center floor and across the floor combinations to teach ballet skills and technique. The foundational technique learned in ballet will provide dancers with the foundation for all other genres of dance.

Our camps offer a wonderful opportunity for dancers to explore their love for dance and see if they’d like to continue with us for the full season.
