Classes
Body Conditioning
Move your body with pilates based, functional movement where you’ll be challenged with higher reps and strengthening exercises that target your core, upper body, booty, and legs. Bring a friend and come get your sweat on in a fun environment. Beginner to advanced welcome!
Stretch and Tone
This class will focus on an invigorating midday break. Stretches will concentrate on opening the spine, releasing tension in the neck, shoulders and arms, and increase flexibility in the hamstrings. Individual group needs will also be taken into consideration when designing the class sessions. Strengthening will focus on the core muscles, which ultimately radiates out to our overall health of our spine. Exercises will also include improving our arm, glutes, hamstrings and quad strength. Many weight bearing and targeted muscle groups incorporated. Option to use weights.
Contemporary
Similar to Modern Dance, Contemporary Dance challenges the dancer to explore athletic floor work and intense expression.
Lyrical
With its roots in ballet, lyrical dance bases its choreography around the lyrics of the songs. Dance is usually performed in lyrical shoes or bare feet. Music is modern day pop, slow songs.
Power Yoga
Unlike traditional yoga, this class offers a more fitness-focused style building strength, flexibility, and stamina.
Yoga Sanctuary
Rooted in classical yoga, this class encompasses the asana, pranayama, and pratyahara limbs of yoga. Enjoy this time to deeply connect to your spirit and soul, perfect as you are.
Rise & Shine Yoga
Begin your day setting your intentions and awakening your body in ways that will ripple out positively throughout the rest of your day.
Community Yoga with Aviva and Jess

MARZIPAN
Traditionally known as the Dance of the Reed Flutes or Les Merlitons, this dance is performed in Act II: “Land of Sweets.” The dance symbolizes the delicate sweetness of marzipan, a pastry enjoyed in the Land of Sweets. It challenges dancers to use precise arm movements, and strong feet work, all while making it look effortless.
TEA
This dance in “Land of Sweets” was officially known as the Chinese Dance and celebrated Chinese culture. Many productions have gone away from the stereotypical images used and now focus more on the musicality of the piece. This dance class will focus on light, sharp, and quick movements.
MOTHER GINGER
In “The Nutcracker,” the Mother Ginger dance scene features a whimsical character who appears in a large, flowing skirt, from which playful children, known as Polichinelles, emerge to dance. This scene adds a delightful and comedic element to the ballet, showcasing the joy and magic of the holiday season. This class will incorporate playful partner and group choreography with some tumbling elements.
PEPPERMINTS
In the “Peppermint” dance scene from The Nutcracker, performers typically portray lively and colorful characters representing peppermint candies, showcasing energetic and playful choreography that captures the festive spirit of the holiday season. This scene is part of the larger “Land of Sweets” segment, where various sweets come to life through dance.
HOT CHOCOLATE
This lively dance in “Land of the Sweets” represents the arrival of chocolate into Europe with Spain being the first to import and consume! This class can focus more on ballet technique.
COFFEE
The “Coffee” dance, set in “Land of Sweets” was performed by The North Star Dance Company in 2016. The dancers choreographed their version of this dance piece and some of our dancers learned their choreography this summer in our Dance Intensive Summer Camp. This class will focus on ballet and lyrical technique.
SNOWFLAKES
The “Snowflake” scene in The Nutcracker ballet features dancers representing snowflakes, performing in graceful, abstract movements that evoke the beauty and delicacy of falling snow. This enchanting segment showcases the ballet’s visual splendor and the dancers’ technical skills, creating a magical winter atmosphere. This class will highlight Ballet technique for your aspiring young ballerina.
BATTLE
In the battle scene of “The Nutcracker,” Clara’s Nutcracker comes to life to defend her against a horde of giant mice led by the Mouse King. With the help of toy soldiers, they engage in a dramatic fight, culminating in Clara’s bravery as she throws her slipper to help defeat the Mouse King. This class will be high energy, yet will develop technique in strong, precise, clear movement sequences. Partner battle sequencing as well. A good fit for your athletic, acrobatic, ninja dancer.
LITTLE MICE
Your young aspiring dancer will delight the audience with their playful, mouse-like movement choices which wake Clara up in her dream.
PARTY SCENE
The Party Scene in “The Nutcracker” takes place on Christmas Eve at the Stahlbaum home, where Clara and her family host a festive gathering filled with dancing, games, and gifts. The scene introduces key characters, including Clara’s godfather Drosselmeyer, who presents her with a Nutcracker doll, setting the stage for the magical events that follow. This scene is truly a chance for the whole community to come together and shine. If you’ve ever wanted to be a part of a production, this is a full-filled scene with easy social dance sequences and a lot of action to react to. No lines to memorize! All ages welcome.
TOY SHOP
The toy shop is in the opening scene of the show! Uncle Drosselmeyer is busy creating intricate toys (mechanical dolls and other fantastical inventions) and of course, The Nutcracker, to give to Clara during the party scene. Actors will mime being a toy and/or customers coming into the toy shop.
Pre-Pointe
Dancers work on improving their strength in their ankles, core, and feet in this class in preparation for passing the tests that indicate the dancer is ready to go en pointe.

Ballet III
Full barre work and combinations in center and across the floor keep dancers moving and advancing to more complex techniques. Preparatory skill work for building the necessary strength and alignment for going on pointe is also incorporated into the class.
Ballet II
Dancers continue to advance in barre work, center work and combinations across the floor. Original choreography concepts form the foundations for student’s works.
Ballet I
Dancers advance in barre work and more technical combinations across the floor. Student choreography is stressed.
Creative Ballet
a perfect introduction to ballet. Ballet basics are discovered in age appropriate exercises. Dancers enter the world of ballet by connecting to their own instinctual movement.
Theater Arts
Theater classes are geared for students to build relationships and develop positive self character traits with team building, following directions, and social interaction. In the beginning, theater games with the students will focus on building a positive environment for risk taking to occur. The study of theater is more than costumes, memorizing lines, and rehearsals. At Current Rhythms, our actors develop artistic skills and cultivate their abilities to collaborate, critically think, problem solve, and effectively communicate. Theater Arts enhance both verbal and non-verbal expression of ideas. It improves vocal projection, articulation, pronunciation, fluency, and how to express oneself with the body. But most of all, theater games bring much laughter to all and reduces stress!
Combo Class
This combo class offers your younger dancer more dance forms. Dancers advance in barre work and more technical combinations across the floor. Students learn tap basics as they gain control of their feet and explore different rhythms. In Hip Hop, dancers improve their speed, precision, and strength as they learn basic hip hop dance movements. Student choreography is stressed.
Urban Ninjas
For your older flipper, this class is designed to build strength, confidence, awareness, and courage to stand on their hands, go backwards, dive, and vault themselves through space.
Tenderfoot Ninjas
For those younger flipping and flying warriors! Great, active class for building strength and confidence!
TumbleTime!
Parent/Toddler- Move together with your young ones as we discover the 15 dance concepts. Class will also have fun with basic tumbling on mats, trampoline and low balance beam.
Creative Dance
Your young one’s natural tendencies to move and express themselves freely to music are nurtured in this lively, creative class. Basic dance concepts are introduced to widen their movement repertoire. Locomotor & non-locomotor skills are also enhanced. Class will also have fun with basic tumbling on mats, trampoline and low balance beam.
BALLET CLASSES
The Nutcracker
A magical Christmas classic. Close to 100 community members, ages 3-80 are ready to delight you in our version of E.T.A. Hoffmann’s Christmas tale, The Nutcracker and the Mouse King. The Nutcracker Ballet premiered in 1892 in Saint Petersburg, Russia to Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s score. This will be our 3rd full scale production of the Nutcracker and we are taking it to new heights! We so hope you can join us and experience the magic of the Nutcracker.

Adult Ballet
We all feel better after we’ve moved our bodies and connected with others. Ballet is not only great for building overall strength and length, but is also a great class to keep your mind focussed and challenged…in a good way! Meets in 4-week series.
DANCE & THEATER
Option to enroll in the FULL season (September – May) or HALF season (September – December OR January – March). FULL PAYMENT DUE BEFORE FIRST CLASS Once you submit your online registration form, you will receive a payment instruction email. Once payment is received, you are considered enrolled in the class.

Summer Dance Intensive
This summer, immerse yourself in a transformative dance experience designed to elevate your technique, build confidence, and foster a love for the art form through rigorous training and creative exploration. Prepare for a challenging and rewarding week of daily dance classes, focusing on ballet, pre-pointe, and choreography for the opportunity to perform in the Nutcracker Ballet this Fall, 2025. Develop your technique, stamina, and strength through focused training and instruction. Engage in choreography workshops, improvisation exercises, and performance opportunities to expand your artistic expression. Culminate your intensive with a final performance, showcasing your growth and accomplishments to family and friends.
An Enchanted Christmas Drama and Dance Camp
Create the Opening Scene of the Nutcracker Ballet. Performance opportunity in the Fall 2025. Step into a world of magic and wonder at our Enchanted Christmas Nutcracker Dance Camp! This festive experience invites dancers to immerse themselves in the beloved holiday classic. Participants will create the opening scene where the Stahlbaum family hosts their magical Christmas Eve party. Uncle Drosselmeyer’s toys come alive and the most beloved gift of all is presented to Clara. Throughout the camp, dancers will enjoy fun theater and dance activities, crafting sessions, and festive games. Each day will culminate in rehearsals that build towards a performance opportunity for the Fall 2025. Shipwrecked Pirates Dance Camp
Ahoy, mateys! Set sail for adventure at our Shipwrecked Pirate Dance Camp! Join us for a swashbuckling journey filled with high-energy dance classes, treasure hunts, and pirate-themed activities.
